Update on the Des Moines pool scene

I have leagues on Thursdays but if I took a night off I could come up for one. "Assuming" its the location I am thinking I will be visiting there more then Big Dogs.
 
And if anyone was wondering Jon just backed out of the game for this weekend because people quit at Big Dogs and he has to train people, yada yada yada. Thank goodness no show money ever was posted cuz that would be gone now.

I'm thinking off sheer principle about pulling all my money out of the game now. Olathe is this weekend, would have been nice to have more time to make appropriate plans to go, sure Scott feels the same way as me on this.

This is pretty disappointing, looks like the guy who said "I'll bet a $100 they don't play" is the real winner. I'm not happy right now!

I told Jamie and Justin that with no show money up it was not gonna go off. Toobad for Scott and whoever was gonna collect on a nice little payday.
 
WOW!..... I guess I'm not surprised. Oh well, I couldn't be there for it anyway. Maybe that's the real reason......Jon just wanted me to be there...LOL :grin-devilish:

Not like the game was made last week, it was made over 7 weeks ago! If 2 months isn't enough notice to make a game and stick to it, then nothing is. I had a feeling it wasn't gonna happen anyway.

Whoever said "I make my mom post" is a genius. This is exactly why people put up a little cash before a match because it should cost you money to change any of the agreed upon conditions. This is yet another reason why I am so happy that I am done gambling.

This literally just stressed me out. Scott gave up home room advantage and 2 months to practice. That's a fact. Massey is coming to town but he'll be at Stix on Saturday. Saturday is DEAD in Big Dogs. Betting that kind of money, alternate arrangements should be made.

Like I'm telling Scott, no excuse is good enough at this point. As far as I am concerned it's not right and bad action. I been going to the ATM for a week straight to get the money right, so I'm inconvenienced and quite pissed now. This is not OK!

No money made here...Jon never posted. I talked to Jon tonight and he said we'll play next weekend....(explanation: see Mr. Frost's post)....he's still not sure about the bet amount though (aparently "the window is open" doesn't mean what it used to!) and he'll let me know on Friday. That is also the day I'm expecting the $1000 to be posted, I feel that if Jon doesn't post by then, his heart is not really into playing. I'm not WOOFING or trying to be a D*#k, I just want the man to play (like he said he would) or say the game is off! Simple as that! I have quite a few people who want to come down and sweat the action that don't want to follow the Carrot either. So we'll see what happens Friday......

Well said and I do want to say I had to go through some shit to get my cash into my bank account. I had to get USPS Money Orders and deposit by mail to my bank that I use. If anyone has ever gotten over $5k in USPS Money Orders they know about the government paperwork you have to fill out, this was a couple months ago. I been going to the atm for a week pulling out $500 at a time. Every word has been all about how the game is good blah blah blah. Well now I need to find an alternate way to move this cash around, cuz I'm not filling out that paperwork looking like I am a drug dealer with a savings plan.

With that said, if JB does not post on Friday or Saturday really early we're walking. It's a principal thing. I know Jon wants to play and there are circumstances but this is a chance for a big score for someone. Let's lock it in.

I went to Bass Pro Shop yesterday and checked out the new pool room at Uncle Buck's bar and grill there.

It has two of the nicest 9' Diamonds I've seen. The side pockets are not buckets.

Well I guess I won't be visiting Big Dogs after all. I had planned a weekend trip, beginning with Mike Masse, in Des Moines. A visit to the Bass Pro Shop was in there as well as a little wagering on the game. Looks like that's all out the window now. I just lost quite a bit of repect for a certain someone.

Scott (H), I hope you can still make a game. If I were you thought, I'd make sure he posts some show money and maybe even schedule in CR. He owes you (and alot of others too) big I think.

Well, I guess I'll get busy making some other plans for the weekend.

Mike, you're right! I did the last second on a whim trip to Olathe this summer, I loved the tourney but I won't lie the travel without prior arrangements did take a bit of a toll on me. I like to plan things out so as lame an excuse as that is, that's the reason I feel like it's too late to even consider going.

P.S. I beat both 7's that I played last night 5-1, lost to a 4 and a 5 though. I was very happy, no pool until Monday now.
