they have not started yet - they had the men play first for some reason.

You're right, it has nothing to do with the format. Each of them won their first five matches, so they'd have been meeting in the finals even if the WPBA standard format were in use.

Jasmin seemed to have trouble with one particular pocket. Whether it was the cameras looming in the background in that direction or what, I don't know, but she missed 4 or 5 balls, some very easy, in that pocket, which opened up the door for Allison.
