Updates SVB Vs R. Alcano

This SVB has made a believer out of me. I can't remember seeing anyone play any better.9-ball...and I'm going back over 50 years. Johnnyt

Jay just said the same thing I said in the above thread...he never saw anyone play any better in 40 years, and I'm sure he's seen a lot more high profile matches than I have. Congrats Shane, I hope you go all the way. Johnnyt

The only person I saw play better was Shane van Boening against Corey Deuel last month!

i have been around pool since 85, i did take a break from going to pool rooms etc. but I have seen ALOT of 9B and that was as good as it gets, that table aint a bargan either.

Well he was my pick in the beginning and I am glad to see he is playing unreal pool right now. Go Shane I really believe he will win the tournament. Can't wait for the action tomorrow.

I've heard on more than one occasion that the Diamond table is designed to encourage "correct" play. Shane on that Diamond table was poetry in motion!!

i saw the match in person. it is by far the best pool i have ever seen. he looked as if he could give ANYONE a spot. It was absolutely phenomenal. Alcano did not play bad at all, and he was a very gracious loser.

SVB missed one ball in the 11 racks he won, and that was a hard shot on the one ball into the side. I was very impressed. If he keeps playing like that and he continues to get better, we might be having discussion twenty yrs from now about who was better, Reyes or Van Boening. Believe that!

i'm an OK player and hated diamond tables, the pool rom a mile from my house put them in so I had to go with them, now I'm sold I love them, best I have done is a run 4 pack one game was a 9 ball break,. I'm playing better and better on them. I love them, it took a while.

Diamond tables end rail facing angle is really tough. It's too flat for my liking.
And the slates are deep in the pockets.
Tough tough table. Much tougher than Gabriel's or GC's.
