Yeah the Sky criticism here is completely arbitrary. Does someone have first hand info that he is approaching his game differently because he now has a family? Just sounds like conjecture to me. At his level, it's not just desire that gets you over the finish line. Honestly, he's always been in the 2nd tier and unfortunately for him, 1st tier players keep popping up out of the Woodward...opps I mean woodwork.

Or measure the break speed.

Just put the speed on the screen. Gives them another interesting graphic and conversation piece. The more they differentiate from snooker the better.

Baoanan’s break being more center of the box meaning the cueball carries more energy. If it gets to bounce side to side with no collisions it’s just getting to the third rail.

If Fedor’s cueball gets to bounce side to side with no collisions it’s bouncing off that third rail and carrying out yo center table. Fedor’s cueball coming from the edge of the box will not only transfer more energy to the rack but have less leftover for the cueball itself. So for his ball to travel further isn’t just because he’s hitting it incrementally harder, he’s hitting it notably more harder to get that much travel.

I thought that if you break from center table more energy/power gets transferred to the rack and less is left on the cue ball. Maybe I am wrong and the physics is different for a cut break. Would like to hear other opinions on this.

The main thing for me is, if let's say your analysis is spot on and a 7 is good enough and Gorst complaint made the guy had to up his break to an 8 then that is taking him out of his game - ala sharking.

Gorst did look genuinely concerned so it wasn't the Earl kind of sharking, but I think extremely unfortunate. I am rooting for him to lose.
I must say that this is one of the best MR single elimination stage I have seen.
