US Open 08/18-23

Well, there's a shocker. I wrote last night that Shane looked a bit off/tired.

Arseni has a Fargo of 759 and fared well recently in European 8 ball and 9 ball. Still ...

One guy who still is very sharp after Florida and BotB is Chang Yu Lung. The Taiwanese Typhoon. Won his first match 9-2 and just beat Chris Reinhold 9-3.

Lung plays fast indeed. He's blown through a lot of opponents during his trip to the states.

Like a lot of Asian players, he disappeared from the global pool scene during Covid. Started to play in WNT events somewhat regularly in 2023, but has only showed his true prowess this year.

Just over 40 years old, Change comes across as very confident and always seems to know what he wants to do. Doesn't seem to have any major weaknesses.

Still not sure what to make of his sudden stellar play on the WNT circuit. Need to see more.

Island Drive, you changed it to "9/18-23," which is September. The tournament next week is August 18-23 (8/18-23). ;)

there are a couple guys like that. if wu jiaqing or zheng xiaohuai gave WNT a serious go they would likely be in the very top within a few events.

what annoys me with chang yu lung is that he looks the same as 15 years ago, while my hairline in the same time period (and age) has gone full ralf souquet
