I think they are thinking of audience attendance when moving from Atlantic City, NJ to Texas. Texas is a way bigger pool playing demographic than NJ.
Also, Atlantic City is a shell of its former self. It's become very run-down and ghetto/dirty/unsafe. Not at all how it was 15 years ago. There's nothing of value there anymore.
At least in Texas, they can hope for the seats to be packed with fans who actually want to watch pool.
However, after watching Landman, it seems that driving from once city to the next in Texas takes about 3-5 hours. About 75% of the show was Billy Bob Thornton driving to meetings in his pickup truck
