US Open 9-Ball, 2023, Atlantic City, Sep 25-30

I'm glad he managed to get through that last rack, because a suicide would be bad for the pool business. ;)

probably the best player in biggest need of a mental coach. he can run a straight pool set out in no time, can win eurotours and minor predator events, but in championships and majors he just loses it mentally.

at least he has worked on his break (before he just wanted to get it over with)

When you compare how they run snooker to how they handle pool its night-n-day. Not sure EF is the person for the job. So much of it just seems bush-league to me.
You really need to come to this event and see for yourself how bush league MRs efforts are.

He has won a couple major titles so not sure what you mean about his play in championships?

100% dead-on target. I want pro pool to succeed on all fronts. This is MR's big show and its just not run that well. In business shit runs downhill so its possible ER is not the person needed. Time will tell.
I strongly suggest to all, to not bother watching the free streams during the first few days.

Only way this tourney could meet the imaginary standard dreamed up by those with zero invested is if they shortened the field by ~50%. I personally would rather have the large field with dead money players testing their metal against the world's greatest.

Although extremely unlikely with the equipment being used. I prefer that the remote shot of a Cinderella story should always exist

That scratch from Fedor was unforgivable, though. Total brainlock for a split second, though. He plays way too good to scratch that way...
I'm not overly surprised actually... balls coming off the rails with any rolling English have been skidding very wide. The main TV had virgin cloth prior to the Gorst/Biado match. I don't doubt that shot caught him off guard after adjusting to the outer tables.

Only big event i'd even consider is to go to Derby again. Been around hi-level pool for 40yrs and i have zero desire to blow a ton of money on a jaunt to Atl.City just to watch some 9ball. I can barely watch it on a free stream for more than an hour.

I sure hope they haven't started the matches before these video issues get resolved.
