US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

Fedor breaks the 1 down and hooked on the 2. Push out. Shane’s say, “take that shit back”.

Fedor cuts an extremely difficult shot in. Nothing easy here. The 5 is difficult. Fedor tries a safe and blows it.

Shane fire it in and runs out

F 5 - S 4

He’s declined and Gorst is the man now.

I value these Opens much more than an exhibition race to 120.
I dunno if I can get on board with that. Race to 120 is a different beast that emphasizes different parts of the game. Either way, they're both monsters. Not trying to take anything away from either man. Just saying this level of pool today is not befitting of this level or either player, frankly. Hopefully we get a solid finish from either one of them.

Clear as mud! :)

Shane makes the 1&2 on the snap. Goes safe on the 3 but leaves a tough cut shot.

Fedor misses. SVB running…

He got out of shape on the 5 and forced short side on the long 6. Then, missed shape on the 7. Safety.

Shane wins the safety game and ran out.

5-5

1 goes down for Shane. Shot on the 2 but tough position to the 3. Shane misses the 3.

Fedor gets short on the position for the 4. Makes it anyway and runs out.

6-6

What does it mean?
I have a hard time believing you're really asking this in good faith given your history of comments, but what the heck.

An exhibition is a display of skills for the public. It's a match that has no significance or stakes other than to show the public something cool. This match had 100K in the middle and a lot of pride at stake.

And for the record, Shane's history as the most dominant gambler in long races the game has ever seen is absolutely part of his legacy and his "career resume" (whatever that means to you).
