Us open 9 ball for this year.

well, this was the statement from Barry concerning monies after the 2012 Open.

http://www.azbilliards.com/2000storya.php?storynum=10662

Why does this remind me of Lucy and Linus with the football? Linus keeps going for it and Lucy always pulls it away at the last moment with Linus taking a hard fall. You know the old saying, "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." I learned my lesson. Good luck to everyone else.

US Open is a turd.
Floating around the bowl.

It's just a matter of WHEN it will finally get flushed.

They are changing hotels again, back to the best one, as someone says, the Marriott, hopefully this will make everything go smooth and everyone happy again, got my toes crossed!

Mr. Richie,
You have your toes crossed! Mr. Richie<----- Has long toes! That is a new one. I like it. Take care, Richie.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Barry's son never ran the US open. Brady ran a tourney that he promoted as the Masters. Yes, there were problems with payouts, and he needed to resolve them. Not his father.

thanks for the clarification. Daddy never did make it good as maybe he should have as players trusted the Berhman brand

Daddy didn't have anything to do with that tournament. It was Brady's idea, Brady promoted it and Brady was responsible for it. Why should Daddy have to bail him out?

I agree that Barry definitely has his problems but I wish people would stop trying to hang that Masters tournament around his neck too. It if made any money, Brady was going to get it. Since it lost money, Brady is responsible for it.

It seems like every year there are more problems and less pros attending followed by a hollow promise to fix those problems but nothing ever changes. Im surprised anyone will play this year.

What top players skipped the event last year?

What would happen if my whole crew descended upon Behrmans pool room en mass and we racked up a large bill and when it came time to settle up we declared we will write you a post dated check, ok?

Probably would get your butts whipped !!! :)

This is the US OPEN

This is the U.S. Open... it needs to be run by responsible people who can definitely pay out all the competitors... ridiculous.

When I think of the two biggest tournaments, it's the World Championship and the U.S. Open.

Maybe if he posted all the purse money and all other monies to be paid out before he took 1 entry fee and someone else paid out the money he might have a shot. Johnnyt

That is nuts!!!! Nobody in their right minds would post all purse and added monies in escrow unless they are freaking millionaires...!!!! (and I still would doubt it.)

As long as some one is dangeling a $25-50k carrot out in front of pool players, the players will show up. EVEN IF IT TAKES A YEAR TO GET PAID.

I still don't see why he doesn't just hand this off to the BCA? If he isn't making money on the USO, and it's kind of his legacy to pool, why wouldn't you want to see it continue on with out you...

For a man like Barry to claim to be out for the good of pool, there isn't much good coming from this.

Would be kind of cool if Shane won the last ever USO...

Best,

Justin

Why does nobody on AZB ever make the distinction between being paid slowly, and not getting paid at all? They're two different things.

There were threads about it right before the open. There were alot of players not there if i find the thread ill post it but im not gonna look too hard lol

There were a lot of threads about who might not show up but at the end of the day they did... hard to find a name player not on the list below (there are a few not listed but VERY few)...

I think Johnny T is saying Barrys credabilty is so badly shot, that this would be a way of making the players want to play in the US open again, because he just cant be trusted for his word anymore.

Jay Helfert wants nothing to do with the US OPEN at this time, thats all i would need to know as a player that was thinking about giving Barry one more chance.

In JAY we trust, BARRY MUST POST!
