Usa shirts

....According to the experts, they should be wearing a nice white polo with a small American flag pin on the collar....

so since you opened the door - do you remember 2 yrs ago, when Vagabond was nice enough to give us a tee-nine-sy USA flag (from his EUR seat), and we were front-row center (with LouF 2 seats to the right), and _____ was getting down on a shot, and Michaela walked towards us all, with her white hand-of-silence in the air....

and as the crowd quieted....

yáll heard a feeble "peep" of....

euuur-up?

(as KK9 was twisting his 3in USA flag)

she turned away from the cameras & looked dead-at KK9....trying to keep her composure....smiled, yet reprimanded him.

good thing his shirt wasn't CLEAR!

PL <---- just peed her pants TWICE today

you might want to see a doctor about that ;)

it's ENTIRELY yours & Watchez's faults!
once he "clarified" things....
....all i could have pictured, since this morning, was YOU - SHIRTLESS!

:rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1:

Looking in the merchandise room off the arena room today, it was all European team shirts. My first thought was it was a conspiracy (my regular first though on many things), but apparently the US team shirts had been bought out. Hope they re-stock today.

Yeah, I get that a lot ;)

Bought out at $80 a piece --- sounds like he had them priced too low. :p

Wouldn't dare do that Scott, I'm not crazy, nor would I ever pay $100 for a Chinese made, plastic (polyester), jersey that has someone else's personal and team name, plus logo on it. If they want me to advertise their team and events for them, I think that I should, at least, get paid for it. But, that's just me.

Jimmy, part of it is being a fan. Most of my buddies wear Bears, Hawks, Cubs or Sox jerseys. My son got a Jose Abreu jersey for xmas last year... he loves it.

I'm not a big jersey wearing type of guy, but I'd buy one here to support the "cause" and it looks kinda cool. I mean, eventually, when tourney's like this don't make financial sense, they will just stop doing them.

I understand that many people believe that hey are "supporting the team" and sport by buying the jerseys, towels, and other logoed merchandise, and that's fine for them. But I also know that most big leagued sports franchises and their players, pool not being one of them, are already making a fortune, putting another $50 in their multimillion dollar pockets is just not my way of showing support. Maybe they should show their appreciation to the fans by occasionally giving attendees a free shirt. Didn't baseball used to have free bat and/or ball days for their fans not too many years ago?

Aside from the manufactures, promoters, and players, I don't see how, exactly, the "sport" benefits from selling overpriced merchandise to it's fans? Personally, I'd rather get some value for my buck, spend a little more table time at my local room, buy a piece of useful equipment, or just pay to be at a great event. Hey, that's just me RJ.

JimmyG -- like I posted before, google RedEye Rhino (which is UTG original shirt company) and read all of the events that they sponsor for darts. The owner - Charles - when he branched off from darts he created UTG because he wanted to have a different brand that was not associated with darts. I have talked to the man numerous times. He has plans for pool the same way he did darts. Nothing else has stuck as a supporter of pool so maybe this will stick if given the chance.

$80 for a nice shirt to me is comparable to $200 for a vinyl, cardboard case (which I own - hi JB  ). But here we have a guy that is willing to put the money back into the sport. Just give him a chance to take a few steps first.

p.s. How many shirts has Hustlin sold and what have they put back into the sport besides a few free shirts to the players?

whoa, I never said anything of the sorts. I don't think buying a Bears jersey is helping the team in anyway. getting way off topic. I don't think my friends they think they are supporting the Bears to get more quality players, they are just huge fans and really like the jersey. Yes, I do wear a Sox hat because it looks GOOD.

I can buy a Mosconi Cup shirt and still play locally, and buy cues and do the number of other things I do to support pool, buying one shirt is NOT going to stop me from the other stuff ;)

I tend to buy pool related shirts when I can... anytime I visit a pool room out of town, I will buy a t-shirt when I leave.. that's just me

Not a problem RJ, we both agree that buying a "team shirt" does little, if anything, to help the teams or the sport.

Some people like and buy sports team apparel and some don't do either. Buying a reasonably priced tee shirt from a local room is a nice thing to do and probably helps the room a little also.

Watchez, if you say that these guys are supporting pool events with some of the apparel profits I'll take your word for it...and I'll wish them all the luck in the world. Still think that they can price their shirts more reasonably and likely profit more from increased sales, but, again, it's not my company.

Scott,

I think the jerseys are stupid period and have no issue saying it out load. And nobody has beaten me up for it. Though I don't go to the games because I think they are stupid (to me).

But if you want to drop your dime, all the power to you.

FYI, everyone has opinions, and anyone who thinks beating people up for them is ok is a real fool. Hope you're not a real fool (or I will want some money refunded by you=)...
