Usa trip - some shops?

GUYS some of you can help me to find a place to stay for 3 nights from 9 to 12 of august in LA? Everyboby told me to go in Santa Monica but is really expensive and almost completely booked. Someone know a good place (even not in Santa Monica). Thanks to all of you... Ale

Try the Culver Hotel. It's relatively close to the airport (6 miles), next to shops, restaurants and the light rail into downtown Los Angeles.

If you want to be next to the beach, here's a Yelp search for hotels in Hermosa Beach;

If your budget is a little lower, there are a bunch of nice hotels in downtown Long Beach (yes, it's f*cking safe) that are walking distance from shops and restaurants;

Good luck and safe travels.

Would US $250 per night be OK? Hilton Universal is available on Expedia.com -it's a beautiful hotel right at Universal Studios in Hollywood.

There are literally 1000's of hotels in Los Angeles - west los angeles, west Hollywood, and westwood would all be great loactions. Expedia.com is a good place to do the search.

The beach cities are all expensive during the summer months.

Thanks TATE.. we booked the first night close to airport because we land at 00.20... during the first morning we will look for a room somewhere! anyway we have the car so shouldn't be a problem!

Hi Ale Wish I was close to your points . I do hope you have a Great Holiday , You are getting some Great free advice . Jim

Coker is in Sacramento, he's a good guy and was very helpful I went to his shop. Chudy is in the East Bay, and Tonkin is in the North bay, but they are both very busy guys from what I hear. There are a few other locals, but good luck with trying to get a shop tour. Are you looking to buy a cue?

Places to play in SF bay area would be; Family Billiards, The Broken Rack in Emeryville, Billiards Palacade, Crown Billiards in Danville, and there are a few others.

If you're ever on the Oakland side, let me know if you want to shoot a bit.

Guys there is any weekly tournament here in San Francisco? I will stay here until the 26 morning...

If nothing is going on in SF, and you have a car, you may want to consider calling the Jointed Cue in Sacramento. (916) 456-3243. It'd be a two hour drive but it is a legendary room and I seem to recall that they used to have weekly tournaments on Monday nights.

I had a very good experience buying a carom cue at Tiger cues in Burbank.They have a Diamond table to try out a variety of cues.Give them a try,see how they build their cues.

Beach Billiards is a billiard supply place that used to have a LOT of custom cues. I don't know if they are still in business but they are worth it if they are and still dabble in custom cues.

Best Billiards is closed I think but if not then Rick Lansdbury there used to have a lot of high end cues.

Not entirely sure where Ed Prewitt is but if he is in the LA area I would say he is definitely worth visiting.

Isn't Martin, Jazznpool, in LA as well? He deals in custom cues so you have a selection there. Superior Cues is his website I think.

I've bene in the family Billiards tournament! Good guys and beautiful pool hall!

Last question guys: tonight and tomorrow night I will probably be at the hard time billiard in bellflower! There is someone to play with? Even few bucks if you want (I'm not a big gambler so when I say few I mean few)!

Let me know
Thanks
Ale
