Used my first custom cue. A Russ Espiritu
Was at a friends house last night. I just brought my playing cue and used his break cue.
*** I don't know much about more expensive cues***
So playing 9 ball first break I sink 3 and squat the rock perfect.
We played about 13 games. I probably broke 6 or 7 and squatted the rock 3-4 times.
Not too common for me. Coincidence maybe.
Reason for post: So after the 4th game or so he says: "do you know what your breaking with?" He shows me a big cue catalog. His is a RUSS ESPIRITU USA or America?
It has American flags in blue in a circular fashion in the butt end.
He says it's worth $1,500 - $2,000. Showed me in the catalog. That's the tops for me so far. (I know there are many many worth way more $$$$)
But, I was BLOWN AWAY by the feel of the cue!!!!
I may not be the best judge but it felt nice and light and very balanced.
I felt like T. Cruise holding the "Balabushka" for the first time! lol
I guess I should've shot with it or asked to borrow it for a few weeks.
I just have my old original McDermott cue. First and only one I bought.
He says it just sits. So he uses it to break with. Regular tip too.
I definitely have to try some cues out at the Expo next yr!
Anyway. I usually get crushed by this guy.
Last night he gives me 3 on the wire going to 7.
I win 7-4 and 7-1.
He had a bad night and I got some of my $$ back!!
