Useful Direction Control with Small-Gap and Frozen-Ball Kiss Shots

FYI, I just posted a new video that demonstrates how to control OB direction when it is close to or frozen to another OB, either by using backspin and topspin to alter the tangent-line direction, or by using the 10-times-fuller system to push the ball well forward of the tangent-line direction. Check it out:

Contents:
0:00 - Intro
0:33 - Straight Shots
2:43 - Angled Gap Shots
3:30 - Angled Frozen Shots
5:14 - 10-Times Fuller Aiming System
6:52 - Speed Effects
7:45 - Off-Angle Shots
8:18 - Game-Situation Examples
11:59 - Wrap Up

As always, I look forward to your feedback, comments, questions, complaints, and requests.

Enjoy!

Very NICE! Learned again something totally new for me :) That not happen often anymore :D
Very clean production too. No sloppy shots. One shot you said you hit too full... Im pretty sure you just hit accidently little low english(watching cueball direction and speed was about same what was on shots you made. :D (timestamped at 12.45)

I'm happy to hear that. If you learned something, I am sure that many other players who watch the video will also learn something. I certainly learned some thing during filming and editing.

Thanks. I try to be more careful with everything than I used to be.

Good catch. I should have instead said: "If you hit the 8 a hair too full or use backspin, it goes forward too much."

Good stuff Dave! I think those of us that have played a lot are aware that these shots are out there.
But seeing the nuances of the different angles, speeds and English really makes the difference.

I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the supportive comments.

another fine educational video
thanks dr dave

... That equation actually has an error. The "dx" should be outside of the square root. Therefore, I cannot help you. :geek: :ROFLMAO:
The obvious typo is that the sqrt sign was extended too far. The odd part of the integrand drops out since the integral is balanced around zero, That leaves a semicircle and the result is pi. bbb will have to figure out on his own how many digits to use.

I will add that all who want to be good on 14.1 or one pocket should study these shots. Especially 14.1 have these shots available very often as offensive option..

For those interested, here is the answer to the correct problem.

Good point. The stack offers many throw and kiss-shot opportunities, especially if you know how to manipulate the lines when necessary.
