I have been a member of this forum for over three years now, and I have around 15 posts. If someone asks a question, and I think I can be helpful then I do so. I have bought a number of cues from people that belong to this forum, and have supported the advertisers that help keep this forum going. Every morning I log in to enjoy the forum with my breakfast, and to see what I might have missed. I have loved pool for over 45 years and I am
reasonably knowledgeable about the game and its history.
Now I find out that I am a 'Non contributor" to this forum.I guess that I will have to start answering every post so that I can be welcomed in the all exclusive AZB room at the classic.THe reason I do not post more is because of the better than you are attitude of a lot of the "contributing"members. Have a Nice Day.

Where did you read this information? I've never read any of this in any post.
The only thing that would make you not able to PLAY in the AZ room is if you did not send your fees in on time, and GOD knows there were about a million posts on paying to play.

ANYONE and EVERYONE is allowed to go into the AZ ROOM and chat.

Could you please post the information you are talking about, before everyone freaks out and goes crazy with more misinformation.

People who want instant credibility just because they type something on the internet are most likely in the wrong forum.

I've been trying to get instant credibility ever since I joined (two or three years ago :D) and have yet to succeed. I'm still trying though and waiting patiently. One of these days I will finally get my instant credibility!!

It would certainly be easier if people would quit telling everyone that I don't actually have any cues...lol.

GS,
You are correct; NO such restriction is in place or ever has been in place. This guy is spreading misinformation (or at least his post implies that such a restriction is in place). Please see my post at the end of page 1 for the actual facts.

Who plays has nothing to do with how many posts, nor the presumed "quality" of the information posted. It's all about covering the costs to have our own place to play and socialize...where anyone, whether they post here or not, can come and 'meet & greet' other AzB posters (Thank you Williebetmore, Timberly, et al!). However, only those that paid a, imo, very small fee, have access to the AzB room tables. Scott Lee

Scott,
Very well stated, and very accurate. I'm hopeful that most forum members have ALWAYS known this - it is what we have been trying to communicate; and has been described in detail in the DCC sub-forum. See you at DCC.

As one of the organizers of the 2006 and 2007 DCC AZB rooms, all I can say is "WTF is this guy talking about???"

There is not at this time, nor has there ever been a limitation of participation by "post count." My post on room participation requirements in the DCC forum does NOT contain ANY SUCH RESTRICTION. We have had many participants in the room with low post counts.

There has been some discussion of doing such a thing in the future (though not by me, and I am opposed).

Don't believe everything someone says on the internet.

P.S. - the only thing "exclusive" about the AZB room is that playing privileges are EXCLUSIVELY for members who contribut $25. ALL members are free to hang out whenever they want and socialize - NO FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION NECESSARY. If someone can explain how this makes our room "exclusive" please let me know. We welcome ALL members to come and socialize.

Our expenses are up-front, and NONE of the organizers is in the business of making interest free loans to a bunch of people who do not get their money in on time.

I'm not sure if I'm going yet, but if I do and decide I want to play, can I give my $25 then?

That is how i understood it, if I wanted to play in the AZ room, I needed to send $25 to you before Dec 15th, which is very clear, If I did not want to play or did not send my money for whatever reason, and still wanted to come in and meet the members and watch the pool games I was welcomed. This is pretty clear, is that how it is....

I can't for the life of me figure out why that thread was locked but since Mr. Wilson demanded that we find out why the forum member was mad (LOL, too funny! ) I'll revive it in order to "nip it in the bud".

That was my reaction too.

There will be quite a few players in the room with zero posts. Some just joined, others have been members but have not posted or have posted very little.

There has been some discussion of doing such a thing in the future (though not by me, and I am opposed).
I suggested maybe next yr putting a requirement on the JOIN date for forum members so that the room and it's priviledges would be less apt to be abused by people that really aren't members but that want to shoot pool all week for free. I never stated or suggested that someone had to have a certain number of posts.

I did find it quite humorous that someone in the other thread piped in on the original thread starters side... LOL, someone that less than two months ago was telling people with low post counts that what they said had no value & they weren't going to listen to them until they had x amount of posts.

This place has gone nuts. All I can say is hurry up Derby city!
