Valley Forge Billiards Expo AZ mini 8 ball tournament?

Will bring this back to the top as the Expo gets closer so we can get some AZ'ers together at Valley Forge to play some pool. I have not forgot !

I just used priceline to rent a car for the Expo. I got a midsize weekly 5 day rental from Budget 3/14 - 3/19 for $133 / $19 a day including fees and taxes. The cheapest price I could find was $232 elsewhere.

Whether we have a tournament or not. I would still like to get and meet some other AZ members to shoot pool with. We can setup a meeting date and time at Chris Byrne's booth prior to the event. If there is not any tables available to shoot on at the Expo. I'm sure there are local pool halls we can go to. I will have a rental car for transportation. I am sure we can setup a carpool if needed.
I am arriving Wednesday afternoon to play in the Pro-Am on Wednesday evening and will be leaving on Monday. I also will be playing in the Amateur 9 ball tournament, and sent payment for VIP seating for the semi and final pro tournament.
Last year there was a tournament on Wednesday night to benefit the juniors. Teams with a pro played other teams with a pro. You might get together and make up a couple teams. McCue Banger McCue - DelaWho ;) and I played last year so you might check with him.

An 8-ball mini sounds fun. I would play. Typically I spend most of my pool playing at Rack 'em Up Billiards in Frazer, PA during the Expo. 9' tables and not a ton of people down there. It is about 20 minutes from VF and a pretty straight shot. They didn't run any tournaments of their own last year, so I would bet something can be arranged. That might be a good option if playing on Allen's tables becomes an issue.

Either way, I am in.

The Pro-Am tourney on Wed night was a lot of fun. I was so new to the game, and it was actually my first tourney experience, I was like a deer in the headlights. Jack was very encouraging though, and a great team player. I think I pocketed maybe 2 balls all night, my teammate who shot before me kept leaving me with a kick just to hit the ball....
Jack really hits them good. I think he out shot our pro, pocketing more 9 balls than anyone on the team. He was, of course, using a Madden cue, and really made that cue sing.
I won't be able to do the pro am this year, but Jacks idea of putting a team together is a good one, and maybe something we could do next year. The entry deadlines for the tourneys there may have already past for this expo.
Where ever we have it, I'll play. Just let me know when and where.

Classique billiards in Phoenixville is about 10 to 15 min from the Expo. This place just got a real nice face lift, new owners, has cheap table time and action. Theres always something going on during Expo week.

just take rt. 23/Nutt rd. from the convention center and follow to Phoenixville. The pool room is on the right at the stop light just after the Sears/Craftsman outlet. You can't see it from the road but its behind a restaurant on the hill.

I would definitely be interested in playing. I have no problem with doing it in the practice room. I plan to be using it anyway. Plus, where I look at this as a vacation, I don't mind paying the extra $10.

Count me in,

I would love to play and meet the AZ'rs who are going to be there. This will be my first time ever attending the expo and I don't have NEAR the experience half of you gentleman do, but I don't mind "donating" funds to a mini/play.

P.S. I live about an hour away and will be driving my own vehicle (plenty of room) if anyone needs transportation.

I will be playing in the Charity Pro-Am on Wednesday night. Wish we had some AZ hats or shirts so we can tell who is from AZ.

Chris Byrne offered his booth for a sign up sheet for AZ members. Why can't we set up a meeting time for any AZ members to meet at his booth who might be interested in getting together to shoot pool. Maybe we can just meet daily at Chris Byrne's booth at 4:00 PM. That way we will know each other's faces, and if anyone wants to arrange anything we can just take it from there.
I know I want to get a good Cheese Steak while in town. Possibly some bar hopping down on South Street also.

I just spoke with Dawn Hopkins about an AZ mini tournament. It is OK with Dawn as long as a person is not profiting from the tournament. Dawn said that tables are available after midnight to use for $10 each and this would not be a problem for her if we get together to shoot. Dawn never heard of AZ Billiards website which kind of surprised me. So the tournament is on please post if you are interested in playing. Does anyone have a bracket sheet to use for the tournament ? I can check at my poolhall tonight if they have any I can get from them. If all goes well maybe we can have multiple tournaments if anyone is interested :)
