Valley Forge- Class of '06

AHA!! Y'all ganged up on poor ol' FL!

"Luckily, my 5'1" 105 lb girlfriend grabbed him by the back of the shirt and swung him around"

You know that your girlfriend was more than a match for Fast Larry but you had to get in the mess first! It would have made for a much funnier story and far more embarrassing to the 14X black belt had your girlfriend kicked his butt by herself. :D :D :D

Eric, I'm afraid you will have to live with the humor and comments for awhile. You have provided a tremendous amount of entertainment to everyone that even knows of Fast Larry. I followed the link to the google search and only read the headlines. Anybody that is healthy enough to write that kind of garbage is healthy enough to pop in the teeth, doesn't matter if he is 63 or 93. Hope there are no repercussions for you and glad you enjoyed yourself at the event.

Hey, you were the one who implied that Eric went to Valley Forge just to beat up Fast Larry, while in fact Eric has been going there eleven years straight. Isn't that to "twist things around"..?!

And you were the one who twisted this stupid incident around by saying that this is the reason why "the World of Pool is in such sorry shape" and therefore the "high dollar sponsors go run & hide".

You're spinning more than Bill O'Reilly on a merry-go-round.

I doubt anyone has.

I think Eric went out of his way to confront FL when he got there.. no doubt in my mind on this! Pool is in bad shape due to its BadBoy reputation and it seems that you are a shinning example of this!:D :D :D

Maybe next year they will have a FL sandwich on the menu.

Pounded pork butt covered with assorted condiments.

Oh get off the pool is in bad shape kick... this in no way reflects pool.

Even if it did (I'm going to humor you here since it obviously doesn't) which of these two do you think would make the public dislike pool more. A nobody who throws an extremely justified punch (once again, no offense Eric) or a professional pool player and professional trick shot artist who makes death threats and racist remarks in public.

BTW Peer in your niffty little diatribe launched against me by yourself & the Icon of Sin... you forgot to explain the 400 plus posts part.. maybe both of you can Twist this around a bit & put some more Spin on it...hmmmm? :D :p

Gee... I wonder why I get the impression I am being double team tagged here? Naw.. it's just my imagination running wild! Have a nice day.!:)

You stated yourself internet forums are ridiculous.

You have 400 plus posts on an internet forum, if they are so ridiculous, why do you stick around?

Also, you said you do not let stuff said on forums get to you.

It sure looks like it is to me, perhaps even the way the things FL got to Eric.

I don't go around making death threats on forums such as Larry so I was just curious as to what this gun toting man looked like.

Nope, you sure "don't go around making death threats on forums such as Larry."

BTW, how did Keith do at Valley Forge? All his fans here at AZ were pulling for him.

Made expenses and a little extra, economically speaking.;)

We arrived at VF on Friday afternoon. I heard about the incident between Fast Larry and Eric after the fact, but was not surprised one bit, considering I knew the history between the parties.:o

Keith did not compete in the 8-ball Pro event on the 9-footers, $500 entry fee. The format was one which drew a lot of upset from some of the players, truth be told. The race-to-5 and one game of sudden death for the win seemed to some players like a crapshoot. Johnny Archer exhibited a little dismay at the conclusion of his match when he realized he had beat his opponent 9 to 5 in game wins, but the one game of sudden death allowed his opponent to win the match and move forward in the charts. Jimmy Wetch also had a similar experience. Tony Crosby kind of shook his head about the format when I asked him about it.

I did attend the finals of the Pro 8-Ball event between Mike Davis and Dennis Hatch. Dennis won both races-to-5 for the big win. He got a little emotional, and the tears ran down his face. It was his biggest tournament win, he said. Hatch was overcome by emotion. For Mike Davis, though, imagine what a bummer it was for him. He made it all the way through to the winners' bracket, never losing a match, snatching the hot seat. There was no extended race for the finals of this double-elimination event. This was Mike Davis' first loss. I know that's how some pro events go, but it sure does kind of suck for the hot seat player, IMHO.

I didn't see too many of the matches because most of my days were spent in the action pit or sitting railside at the Pro/Am 9-ball tournament, $300 entry fee, 32 players, $3,000 first-place prize monies, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening. Keith came in third/fourth and pocketed $750.

The finals was between Troy Frank and Shannon Daulton, with Troy coming out on top. Troy carried away a beautiful large trophy, too. Shannon was so bummed out that he lost. He beat Keith to get to the finals, and that was the BEST match of the tournament. I don't think either of them missed very many balls. Both Shannon and Keith are bar table extraordinaires, and their table play was superb. Gabe Owen, Danny Basavich, Ryan McCreesh, Gypsy, are some other players who jumped in the Pro/Am 9-ball tournament.

Back to the topic, there is something to be said about anonymity, something I am coming to understand more clearly in recent times, especially as it pertains to my personal life. I understand exactly why Eric felt compelled to punch out Fast Larry.

Why should I let someone like you run me off? Your just blowing hot air into a folded sail! If you think this is getting to me you are a little koo koo. How you can twist this into me hopping in my car and driving over to punch you out?? I simply would not waste my time in doing so! Better try again with something else because you haven't even got me riled up yet..hahahaha.:D

You are the one that twists things. I am not trying to run you off, I am just trying to prove your point that you stick around on internet forums when you think they are ridculous. Makes you a hypocrite. You are calling me koo koo and a wacko and yet you are trying to tell me this isnt getting to you.

Like someone in the past said. Eric has been going to the Expo for the past 11 years. He did not attend the expo to knock out Larry, that was just an added bonus.

...and congratulations, Im putting you on my block list for being the one person on here who makes the absolute least amount of sense.

JAM!!!,

Was great running into you and Keith saturday night as I was leaving. Keith is one of the Pool Players I always wanted to meet and I am glad I got the chance even if it was brief. I will email you the picture I got with him, I think my eyes are closed but I couldn't tell from looking at the picture on the camera. Glad to hear he came out ahead! It was a real honor!

Time to step back for perspective folks.

The conversations don't need to get heated over this, so let's keep our emotions in check.

Please.

No problem... I am done.. I am a man & can walk away.. I don't think it got too heated? I let it roll off me like a Ducks back! It never really bothered me much but, I can see now how some people like to Twist things & put spin on what was said! A valuable learning experience for sure!

A fix ...

for those race to 5 sets, with a sudden death game if tied at one set each
might be instead of the 1 game sudden death to have a 'Win by 2' playoff.
It seems more fair to me all the way around.

A friend had asked me if I could pass out invitations to the pros to play challenge matches for the Toys for Tots charity during the players meeting so I was in attendance at the meeting. This was actually the 1st pro players meeting I've ever been to. It was pretty much what I expected except that maybe only a 1/4 of the field was in attendance.

During the players meeting, very few of the folks there were even listening. They were talking amongst themselves. I can understand that most meetings are boring but when the tourney consists of a format that you're not familiar with, it is in your best interest to attend and listen.

I was directly above the tournament directors the whole time I was doing updates.... time after time players were asking questions and controversy would ensue over some issues....questions that were gone over, discussed, and answered in the players meeting.

I had heard a few players complain about the format but in Allen's defense, he gave the players the option at the players meeting. Allen said, "I have no problem changing the format to a race to 8, winner break." They took a vote and I think I saw three hands go up in favor of changing the format.

The guys had no right to complain IMO.... had they shown up to the players meeting and paid attention, they could've had a different format. ;)

JAM,

One spectator came up to me during the match to repeat something funny Shannon said to Keith during that match. They were both breaking and running out so well that after Shannon racked he said to Keith on his way to sit down, "First one to miss is a rotten egg.".

Gotta love it when the big guns show us how easy it is to play on the little tables.
