Value of my Scruggs?

I bought this cue in the mid 90's, sent it off to Scruggs he refinished it and told me he had made it in 1978. I quit playing in 2004, I was wondering if yall could help me with the value of this cue. Any input would be helpful, thanks

I didn't read about condition, but I say 12-1300 easy and fast.
Maybe a 1500.

That said, if you want a real value, put it up on flea-bay.
 
I would say a little more, in the $1700 - $1800 range if it is straight and in good shape. If you sell it, $1500 would be a good opening bid price on ebay.

Scruggs cues have a strong following and are good collectibles at this time.
 
In good condition with 2 original shafts no dings or blemishes, 1650-1750$, more if it is in pristine shape (clean up the shafts and have new tips installed).
 
Two things are also worth mentioning here - since Tim passed, people have started to ask a lot more for his cues. Not sure if that means they're actually being sold for more, but people are asking for more. 800-900 bucks for simple sneaky petes that were going for 400-600 maybe a year ago. The second thing is I see Scruggs cues going for more on FB on the Open Billiards Market than I do here, as there are some very very avid Scruggs fans on there that seem to bolster the market for his cues.
 
I've sold 3 of those.

If I recall correctly they ranged from $1499-$1999 depending on condition, number of shafts and diameters.

That was probably his most popular "model".

I'd agree for the most part of what you said. I've sold a boatload of them over the last year or so.

I think that the guys newer to customs (very new) and first time Scruggs guys are thinking they're a gold mine since Tim passed.

I've seen at least 8 of the cues I've sold at what I'd call the going rate and then on the market for lots more. What do they sell at, probably more than I sold them for but not loads more even at some of the crazy high asking prices I've seen. I should also note that these cues are generally sneakies and Merry Widows (entry level Scruggs cues).

Tim's cues under $2500 sell pretty easily. His cues over that price point don't move overly well or fast but they do sell.

FB does have a whole lot less "educated buyers" but a whole lot more action.

Thanks for all the information, I'm prob going to try and sell it on the Open

My opinion my contradict others but I don't think these early examples similar in style to this cue sell for $1500 or near UNLESS it's in pristine condition... I wouldn't be a buyer at that price. I notice already from the pics that at least one of the prongs is "washing" out at the tip. That would be a deal breaker for me at least.. I think a better "value" for this cue in today's market would be closer to 1100-1200... Then again it's only worth what someone will pay... Wish you luck getting as much as you can if you go to sell it.

I did not offer to buy it.

I stated that IMO it will sell in less than 24 hours on FB for $1499 or less, not by me.

I have had this model quite a few times and simply offered my experience to the OP.

I got what you meant originally. But anytime I hear someone say "I bet", when it comes to anyone else selling something, it doesn't me anything to me unless THEY are willing to pony up... That said, for ME to spend close to 1500 for an early simple piece of work from Timmy the cue has to be executed well, not been restored unless it's by Timmy or a master (maybe the reason for the washed out point), straight, and in beautiful condition....
