VARNEY jump/break review - UPDATED

My 2nd J/b Cue From Mr. Varney

Varney Cues said:
This is all I have to say on the subject...
- Before selling him the cue I offered him the option of a full refund, no questions asked, if he didn't like it.
-the cue was an older used one in PERFECT shape before he received it.
-he has been offered his full money back plus shipping at the other forum...and WON'T sell it.
-I would of fixed any issues, free of charge, had he only contacted me.
-If he's so unhappy...sell it....I'll fix any problems, FREE, for the new owner.:)
Well thats it in a nutshell. I guess out of the 100's of j/b's I've made, there had to be a bad one somewhere...sorry you got it Brian. I stand behind my work & I'll be happy to make it like new for the new owner.:)

That's what I like about Kevin stand behind his work 100%. 1ST one is oil finish, his 2nd generation j/b cue has a shinny finish :D . That's why I got my 2nd SUPER J/B cue from Kevin:D :D :D

i had one for about a week and also wrote an honest review and got bashed for it.i also had to pay $300 and was not lucky enough to recieve any "buy it back offers".i did manage to get out only losing shipping costs.i was satisfied with the way mine broke, but that was it.i didn't like the finish or the way it jumped.anyway maybe out of 100's there are two bad ones.

I am just curious about the above statement concerning the oil finish. If Brian's cue is chipped it must then be a second generation. An oil finish would not chip IMO.
I am not bashing anyone or KV just wondering about the finish.

Yeah. Its not a chip, per se. A chip would show the layer of finish and a gap where there once was one. It would appear to flake around the edges of said chip. Here, its like a piece of that 'oil' is missing, and there is a ding in the wood. Kinda weird. But unattractive nonetheless.

lol people are so afraid to say bad things it's amazing.

People dont generally want to bash anything 'cause they're afraid itll hurt their own resale value or they're just .. oh so sweet. If I had a pos cue i wouldnt say HEY someone buy this cue. it's a piece of shit and i dont want it. Then people would stop buying it. It's a vicious cycle that keeps the cuemaker making cues that suck and new people buying them because noone will say anything bad about them so they can sell their own.

Granted there are some people who like shitty things that will defend anything. I mean look how many people voted for Bush. Oups...

I think with varneys cult like following on this board it's great for him so he can improve and then live up to his reputation. But here locally in NC people know his cues are pieces of trash. Thank goodness for the intarweb.

Oh wait.. I actually said something negative.. oh dear.

The one thing I do like is that Varney does stand by his work and offer to fix it which is good. It would be nice if he didnt have to but at least he offers that he will. To be honest everyone loves some sort of warranty and in a sense varney offers that.

I like my Varney jump/break, it jumps and breaks better than any mass produced j/b I have ever tried in its price range.

I think more people are happy with his product than are not.

I guess the point is that sometimes things just don't work out perfectly. Although, I sense that Brian was actually relishing the fact that the cue showed premature wear and tear:p :p "When opportunity knocks....shoot 'em through the peephole" Good luck to both parties!!
