Weight/balance reasons mostly...it varies from cue to cue. The SW style has a large shoulder & is heavier in the brass/steel versions. The one pictured above is 1/2oz less.

First let me answer your important questions. As I stated in the thread...I made this for an AZ'er, which means its SOLD...if he wants you to know who he is then he can contact you. As for the shaft being longer...its not. Simply an illusion in the picture.
As for you Sam...lets be honest for a moment. Yes you ordered a Varney cue. But as everyone knows I am very behind on orders. Instead of waiting longer than expected, you sold your cue before you laid hands on it...thats fine. I am filling the orders as fast as possible while keeping the quality top shelf. Its taking much longer than promised but everyone will get their cues. I appreciate that you recently sent me a pm saying how much you like my cues, that means a lot to me. But then you at the same time contact my customers & bad mouth me. You think they don't forward your words to me? Lets just be adults here...OK? Since I'm not making you a cue...please just try to be happy with just viewing the pics. I realize you take great pride jumping in every Varney thread yet I worry about you as soon enough I'll be caught up on orders. Lets just be friends. Heck, I'd like to meet you someday. Until then I wish you the very best my friend!

i just thought i'd add that there's nothing i've said to any of your customers that i wouldn't have said to you. if you'd prefer you could just go ahead and post what ever they've forwarded to you. i tried to throw the little wink icon behind this but computers aren't my thing. just imagine it
