Tix4Tonight (1/2 price tickets) (thats the name of the place) is a good idea. It is what it says. Show tickets for 1/2 off. They also have 1/2 of meals, but typically these are for the very expensive restaurants.
I saw the show "Le Reve". It was the best show I've ever seen. Absolutely incredible. Amazing acrobatic stuff over a gigantic pool....its like a regualr round theater (big, seats about 2000), except the entire floor to the place is a pool. People are doing stunts and drop into the water from like 70 feet high. Cool music (a live rock band)...just all around awesome. If you like to "prepare" for something like this (chemically), I have to imagine it would be beyond words.
I also saw one called "Absinthe". It is a cool idea...it tries to be sort of a throwback to some travelling gypsy carnival from like 1800's or something. Pretty funny somewhat raunchy comedy, great acrobatics, and yes, you can get pretty good absinthe to drink, which is quite pleasant.
I saw "Bite", which is pretty much like a rock opera type show about vampires. If memory serves, the vampires are SUPER hot, scantily clad, and great dancers. This was a pretty cool show too. And not too expensive. Expect to pay at least $85 for Le Reve, maybe like $50 for Absinthe, and say $35 or so for Bite.
The Riviera gives you a coupon book when you check in. Its actually not terrible...there might be some things in there that will interest you. A lot of things like "free show with lunch" sort of deals.
I also remember having a decent experience for a buffet at "The Spice Market"...This is in some casino...I think in the huge mall (Miracle Mile?). It was around $35 but had some excellent food. Much better quality than most other buffets...they had king crab legs and lots of good seafood, and just tons of other stuff.
Anyway, I'll be out there too! Hoping to win the 9 ball. Hope this helps.
