Wife and I are meeting up with the family in Vegas for the long weekend. We are in Hawaii, and her family is in Oregon, so Vegas just kind of works. Thing is, her family doesn't get in til the day AFTER thanksgiving, so we are just gonna be piddling around town til then.

Any pool going on in the Vegas area over Thanksgiving weekend? I know we have a couple of AZer's that are from the area. I'm kinda new to the boards, but would love to maybe meet up with a player or 2 in the area. :)

Posting this so far out because the holiday season always seems to sneak up on me. LOL.

i will be out there for Thanskgiving because this year it's my BIRTHDAY!!!! Have a gig or two line up but my cue will be in tow and im from that area so if you want to call me send me a pm ;)

I know I posted this a long way out, but I know how schedules can get on the holidays.

Vegas pool world

Hi and welcome to Vegas for the Holidays :)

All of us at CSI are in Vegas. There is a tournament every year that weekend at Mickey's. Here's a link to the Vegas Billiards Buzz, which has all the pool happenings around the Vegas Valley.

I don't think I'll be playing that weekend one of my best friends will be in town visiting.

Bumping now that I just got confirmed for time off after Thanksgiving. Was actually up in the air, but got it approved. Buying tickets next month. :D

its cold here then :(

Believe it or not, that will actually be a nice change of pace for me. Living in Hawaii has its perks, but 4 seasons is NOT one of them. It's warm here year round.

Besides, just another excuse to spend all my time in Vegas at the casino's or at a pool hall INDOORS where it's nice and warm. ;)

Where's the good places to stay in Vegas? Just wondering what people's opinions are. I haven't been there since I was young. Wife and I were looking at packages for various hote/casino's and I know you can get some good deals, just wondering if anyone has personal good/bad experiences.

Bumping this up since it's getting a bit closer.

Still not 100% sure where I'm staying yet, thinking about Hard Rock, but that's pretty far off the strip. In-laws are staying at Circus-Circus, but don't plan on staying there either. Thrash, I'll check out the Artisan this evening, though it might be a bit of a ways away from Circus Circus where the in-laws are.

Mickey's Cues and Brews hold its Annual thanksgiving 9ball tournament the weekend of Thanksgiving, tournament starts saturday end sunday, call 702-361-2060 and ask for Shawn for more details, and stay tuned the tournament announcement forum here.

Thanks for the heads up Bank2Win. I'm a 9ball player myself, I just hope I can get my home table set up before the end of sept. so I have a month or so of practice. I know I'm not going to walk in and win anything, but I would at least like to be able to hold my own.

If it is your first time and you want to stay at a Casino...I would suggest Ballys or Paris.....It puts you pretty much right smack in the middle of the party...You can walk right out onto pretty much what I think is the hot part of the stirip...(if you are into the party side of it)...There is a pretty cool Piano bar right by there.

I have been there quite a few times and now prefer to stay at a Time Share....There are a few just past the Luxor....It is on the strip but off the strip.....I am not a fan of staying at the casinos anymore.

I use a relatives time share....I just purchase the nights I want to stay instead of using her yearly free time....Even when you purchase the nights it is still way cheaper than the Casino's (unless you want to stay at Circus Circus)

Bumpage.

Thanks for the info BreaknRun. We're actually staying at Circus Circus. . .only reason for it is because the in-laws already had a room there, so it's easier to stay close. We will go back at some point and stay somewhere nicer, but for the occasion, it's going to be Circus Circus for us.

I'm going to be bringing a cue and whatnot to shoot some, so if anyone is going to be in the area during the weekend shoot me a PM or drop a line in the thread here and let me know. It doesn't look like I'll have too much scheduled as of right now.

its cold here then
What does it go down to, 80 degrees?

I guess you could come up to Canada and play me some. I could probably treat you to 35 below temps at that time.

LOL, I'm actually hoping for some cooler weather. . .80-85 here year round gets REALLY old after a while.

Anyone gonna be in the area over the weekend. Love to shoot with some people. Staying at the Circus Circus. Any place good to shoot near there?
