Vegas on Thanksgiving. . .

I'm coming next weekend for 5 days. We are staying at the Aria and I will be bringing my cues...where is the best place to play (No Bar box please)?

Mickeys cues and brews is the nicest. But not the closest to the strip IMO.

What! no pool for 4 days?, you better have you wife bring you to a doctor, somethings wrong with you..lol...Family first is always a good thing so you did the right thing. Well now you have a little idea of Vegas & how you see things for the next time your here.Probley should get a rental next time so you can really sight see the area, so much to see, not enough time. Hope you had a good time anyway.

Next time will be at LEAST a week, and definitely with a rental car and NOT staying at Circus Circus. . .that place is a MADHOUSE. Cab fees are outrageous there, but that's to be expected I suppose.

All in all it really was a good trip. Next time we go we are NOT bringing our daughter. At 4 years old there's just not enough for her to really enjoy.

Thanks for all the kind words guys, Vegas is a great place, and I can't wait to make it back there. . .I actually might have a job offer in Yuma, AZ, and if that happens I can make it to Vegas with some regularity if I feel like it. :)

Rent a car if you are going to see the dam but otherwise mine just costs me parking fees. I usually stay on Fremont at the nugget since I like to gamble and the odds seem better there in the older section. It also looks and feels more like what I would expect the old Vegas to have been like.

The only time we hit the strip is shopping or a few shows and the shuttles are perfect for that and they are cheap.. You just have to be conscious of the schedule they run on. You also can walk door to door on Freemont between like 7-8 casinos. The have lots of daiquiri shops so my memory is fuzzy as to the actual number.

There used to be a pool room right at the end of Freemont so that was an extra bonus... No cab ride required...

Kind of crappy that a straight trip from the Strip to Freemont is 11 bucks but the city lets em get away with taking you around the loop and charging you 20... IF you take a cab, bow up on em and tell em it's not your first rodeo and you don't expect to see the loop.

We left the Circus one afternoon by cab. The driver took us out to the interstate and back in at the end of the strip near the air port, I thanked him for the tour of the interstate and asked him why he didn't just drive us straight down the strip. I was too tired to argue so paid and was happy to be on my way home.

When I first arrived, I was looking for a couple of cartons of Marlboros. I got a cab and asked him to take us to a cigarette outlet.
$30 later and the driver mentioned he could have taken us to a Native outlet down town. Dumb a s s , he got the fare and no tip. I would have given him 30 any way if he hadn't tried to dick me around.
