As sucky as this is...I cannot make it...I wont be getting off work till 5:15pm... I have a Veteran that couldnt make it in during regular buisiness hours, so I am staying over to help him out.....Gotta serve my Vets first!
I hope this goes off great...I am sure it will.....Tell the Vets that are going to be there that the VA here in Muskogee Oklahoma welcomes them home and that we say Thank You for serving this great country!

Read through the replies you received thus far, and I think you're already chock-full of great ideas -- all you gotta do it go through them and try to organize with what you have. Sincerity is the key here; with sincerity comes a great event -- it's just a natural extension of honest focused attention.
I'm a U.S. Navy veteran, and a Veteran of a Foreign War (VFW), so it's this kind of thing that really touches my heart. You guys are to be applauded for this! I wish I were closer, otherwise I would definitely make a guest appearance, just for the honor of applauding, shaking hands, and thanking these guys/gals returning home.
Hey, speaking of guest appearances, I wonder what the ol' "Springfield Rifle" (a.k.a. Danny Harriman) is doing? Is he still in Springfield or thereabouts? If so, perhaps he might be available for a guest appearance as well? It would add to the ability to have a Scotch Doubles tournament or something, as well as autograph/photo-op possibilities, no?
