VF Bracketts?

What is up with the bracketts, I am seeing the same group of 32 on both top and bottom?

I think they are updating them and must be having some problems as the updates are going up very slow. We need to get someone who is there at VF to give up live updates.

From what I can see, the entire bracket shows regardless of clicking on the top or bottom. They must have not had a picture of a chart with a solid color on each side.

Also, the scores they give on the matches played don't match up to the winner they have listed. BUT...brackets that need some adjusting are better than NO BRACKETS AT ALL. :)
I miss being there this year...

I don't understand this comment. The scores don't match up the winners?

Can you explain what you mean?

Mike,
For example...the match Stalev vs Parica has the score Stalev 10 / Parica 4, yet it has Parica moving on in the winner's bracket. Most of them were like this all morning, however, I've noticed that the first column in now just blanked out w/ regards to the match scores.

It is actually all 64 players shown whether you hit top or bottom.

It says Warren Kiamco 10 Troy Frank 9, yet Troy Frank moves on in the winner's side. Several are like this.

The scores are all 10-* - there are no scores listed *-10. I don't think they're putting the scores in the order of the players in the list (top/bottom).

If someone advanced, I'm figuring you can count on them having won the ten games. :)

That said, there are a lot of matches in that bracket display that are complete (winner is in the next column over) but without any scores listed.

You have to look at who went on before you look at the score, the person who went on won the 10 games (in this e.g. it was Troy Frank).

Oh Wayne...
I know that my friend. I was clarifying for Mike what the problem was. I figured that who moved on won, but normally, when giving scores in races to 10, the "10" is posted next to the winner. Why include a "10" in the box next to players if that is not indicitive of the score?
I think it's somewhat funny (cool?) that we guys can parse something so small as internet pool scores and write back and forth about it. We must all be having a somewhat slow day! :)
Thanks for your posts here on AZB.
Your friend,
Terry

Does anyone know when John Schmidt is supposed to play again? I have to admit that I am chewing my fingernails at this point....

Thats a tough field of players, wow. its like the old saying "If you dont see a sucker at the table then your the sucker" in this case that would be me and the rest of the world(almost).

Its gonna be great in a few years when the brackets of winners and losers are real time on the net, they just have to work the bugs out of the system, most of the of the pro-sports have that, base ball, football etc, have it working almost perfectly and i'm sure that it will be that way for pool soon.

I would like to personally thank who ever is doing it now, its alot of work and i appericate it. Its cool to be able to sweat a tournment form home while I work(i work at home). Even though its not perfect its still GREAT, thanks again.

The old brackets listed scores by the players name. With this new system, I am just listing the match score as a whole (i.e. 10-5) and moving the winner over.

It has to do with the coding that I finally put in the system to allow me to maintain online tourneys easier.

For years and years, I was doing it all by hand. Now I finally have an automated system that moves names over and gives me an online page to update scores.

Mike,
I understand now what you're doing & what Wayne was trying to explain to me. Without that explaination and since the "10" is next to a player's name, it appears that those are player's scores rather than match scores.
Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to our great sport!

Are the scores not coming up vertically centered between the players name for you guys?

Vertical centering using CSS is a serious pain in the neck. I thought it was working though.
