Video Earl 1994 Championship

Are my eyes deceiving me, or are they playing on an 8-foot table? For some reason, that table looks small.

I don't know if this has been posted already but it's a nice video to share.

Also does anyone know or have stats of how many times Efren came in second. Seems to me he was second place alot of times in a major event like the US Open. What was the final score in this video?

I am pretty sure that Efren also finsihed second in the WC in Vegas the year before (1993) to Johnny Archer. I was thinking that Efren had also came in second at the Open to Reed Pierce, but I'm really not sure who Reed beat in the finals of the Open ... was it Efren? Anyone?

Was that from an instructional video or something, with that extra voiceover?

I believe Pierce beat Efren in the 1995 US Open finals

Yes, Reid beat Efren. I watched the match. Reid played exceptional in that match.

Efren Reyes won the U.S. Open 9 Ball Championship in 1994, beating Varner in the finals.
Reyes finished 2nd in 1995 behind Reed Pierce, 2nd in 1996 behind Rodney Morris, and 2nd in 1997 behind Strickland. His other high finish in the Open was in 1985, when he finished 3rd behind Jimmy Reid and Mike LeBron.

Efren has a long history at taking second place in many big tournaments, and not just "when he first came here...."

I thought the table looked small too at first but I think it's just the funny camera angles or a fisheye lens or something.

Nice to see earl calm and cheerful. Efren's just like "...zzzzz" =P

That was a 9ft table. I actually was at that match. It was the first ESPN billiards event that was telecasted live. I got a picture after Earl won the match. They didn't show it, but after he won he got the whole crowd chanting "USA...USA...USA".

Oh yeah....I also had him (along with others) sign part of my table, bottom right corner.

Here are some other autographs that I got...if you're interested. I really kick myself for not getting a couple others. One was Steve Mizerak's. He was out of the tournament and just watching, but had fell asleep in his chair. I didn't want to wake him and thought for sure I would see him again...I didn't. Another one I regret was Tony Ellin. I thought he was a nobody and didn't want to waste the space.....boy was I wrong. Alhough they didn't get to sign my table, I later did purchase autographed billiard balls from both of them.
