Video of Earl Strickland Jeremy Jones Drama

I think they just go all the way with it.

See Double J in front of the mic:

"Last week you got me all worked up Earl the Squirrel....but next weekend in the luxurious Bonus Ball Headquarters in world famous Las Vegas Nevada you will pay the piper son. WOOOO.....Thats right Earl. A reckoning is coming. Its not a threat its a promise baby. WOOOOOOO!!!!"

Drops mic, punches host, walks off stage.

now THAT will get viewers,,,, LOL. he's gotta do the rick flair " WOOOOOOOOO" at the end lol

If I was Jeremy, I would tell BB that Earl gets suspended or I will not be doing anymore commentary. They have no option beyond Jeremy because he gives all the other announcers the 6 and the break in that category.

i'll wager on Texas in this one too.

Funny how different people see things differently. Everyone wants to jump on Earl because he "goes off" a lot. Did it ever occur to anyone that that just might have been part of JJ's team strategy? Keep talking while Earl plays because it will make him go on tilt. Actually, I feel JJ should be fined or suspended for threatening Earl to start with. JJ is the one that made sure it got started, and then kept pushing it to it's obvious conclusion.

Its like some of the personalities here on AZ that are always in the thick of it. As the years go by, they get in spats with hundred's of people, who otherwise don't get in spats with anyone. Yet they will say "but he started it, etc". Its the exact same thing with Earl. Do you see any other pro's getting into spats? He is the only one. He will turn a calm player into a psyco for a few minutes.

If this "episode" we're edited into a one hour show where Earl and JJ had interview clips then cut to some of the highlights of amazing banks and 90 degree cuts and buzzer beater comebacks then back to the interviews then highlights of the mid match banter then a few more shots and score updates, then mid match arguments, interviews, yelling...

Then you would have the Earl reality show we have all said would be the only way pool gets back on tv. Earl plays every week right?

Bonus Ball hopefully interviewed them both after the show but I doubt it.

They are probably in the same camp as a lot on this forum thinking the Earl show would make pool look bad. I think no pool on tv makes pool look bad.

Uh....yeah.....JJ. Or did you dismiss his part in it??

Horror of horrors!

I sure am glad no one in other sports behaves so badly.

In baseball, hitters are known to run out to the pitchers mound to thank the pitcher for throwing the ball so close to their head. Often their teammates (on both sides) will perform a ritual known as "emptying the bench" in which they all meet on the playing field to exchange well-wishes.

Years ago this rarely happened, you got dusted ? You got up and went right back into the box, it was part of the game to get thrown at. Hell, the ump would look down at you and say "Well get up son, you cant do no hitting from down there".
No warnings then, the pitcher owned the plate and you didnt crowd him, period.
Today its all turned into garbage.

Black Belt Bonus Ball - Two Men Enter and only One Man Can Leave

Might want to check out that statement on a myth busters website... No such thing as registering your hands as deadly weapons, but, maybe other body parts

http://www.fusionmma.com/myth-buster-lethal-weapon/

yeah, that's a joke about registering Ear's hands but this may lead to the "Octagon" we can call it Black Belt Bonus Ball - "Two Men Enter and only One Man Can Leave"

Now that would get some great ratings imo :groucho:

I'm sorry, but I'm having a hard time imagining Jeremy Jones with this much enthusiasm. From what I've seen of him before Bonus Ball anyway. The few times I've actually seen him play in person, I've seen him more or less in a laid back way dressed in 80's style Levis just being a solid pro player.

Here's another view of the drama someone posted on facebook. You can hear what they say much clearer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrFwJEurC0Q&feature=youtu.be

Dave

A much better video I'm thinking the tape should run until both teams leave...as far as sharking Earl's exchange may have more lasting of a shark than going outside. I have ofter\n wondered how much it would take to get the emotions going. New place, new game.....a dependable paycheck.....you get the idea

Still screaming

Who says JJ was talking while earl was playing? The truth is that earl was talking while JJ was playing, JJ had to get up off a shot with 5 seconds on the shot clock because earl started yapping, Lee warned earl to shut up or he'd call a foul on him and then he reset the shot clock for JJ and that's what started it all. People see 90 seconds of it and think they know what happened over 2hrs.

Not many here actually watched the whole 2hrs and yet as usual everyone knows the whole story anyway :banghead:

if a casual observor took a look to maybe decide on giving pool another chance he would probably think, "Yeah, that's what I thought these pool players were like"

Who cares if it makes people want to play as long as it makes people want to watch? A large portion of the US population watches the NFL, but who the heck actually goes out and plays football? 40 million people a week watch american idol, do they all go out and take singing lessons? The BB people arent there to get people into poolrooms.

You are right, I deserve being berated for commenting on only what was shown in the thread. However, that's still better than having to sit through the whole match to see it all go down. ;)

He barks, but he won't bite

Someone is going to knock Earl out cold one day, hes pushes too many guys buttons and the more nothing happens, the worse he gets. Well, he will push it too far sooner or later and he will get a rude awakening.

That's right. Maybe the reason it hasn't happened yet is because he runs away after he is confronted about his bullshit, He ran and hid after he kept barking at Double J. At least it appeared that way to me.

Jeremy is right, Earl is wrong. That's it.

Only one of these men has a history of this kind of controversial behavior.

Furthermore, you can't talk smack all night long and expect your opponent(s) to say nothing in return.

Lastly, I have never heard of Jeremy raising his hand in anger toward any person, ever. It's not a threat to ask someone to step outside to air out your differences off camara.

I think earl should do this when he gets into these situations!
