It takes a lot of effort to become successful at pool, more than most are willing to give. The truth is that is probably a good thing.
I've read the entire thread. Leave the career direction to mom and let the young man have fun playing pool.
He does look like a very big 11 year old and his break is very good. He could improve his break even more but currently he breaks a little better than most players and that's saying something.
You should consider getting him into another school during the summer if he makes good grades during the upcoming spring session, like the one Stevie Moore took with Stan Shuffett, (Foundation Course).
A couple of days in there and he will have a lifetime of drills and fundamentals to work on.
