Video of Rodney Getting Pissed Off at Mosconi Cup

Im curious what Daz said, as its rare to see Rocket go off like that. In either case the threat and f-bomb was a bit much.

Not going to lie though. I was amused.

I don't think Europe liked seeing USA coming back on them today so, it was time to start sharking and it worked.
Sorry TAR 24 but more like UFC 24 Rocket vs. Daz.

GO USA! ! !

I like when emotions comin trhough- but to ask to go outside?
lol? Perhaps Rodney just tried to get out of the mood this way, to push themselves a bit. But this was a bit over the edge. I m sure all are with me, that the crowd is by far not that loud, as it was in many Mosconi Cups in the last years before.

Sorry, that s just laughable. And i m sure that Rodney will hopefully give Daz and Chris a handshake later incl an excuse.

Daz posted that Rodney did apologize and it was a misunderstanding of sorts. I do not think Rodney is wrong for doing his thing at the table, it is his personality, Daz said he brought it on himself by interacting with the crowd because some of the Euro crowd was getting out of hand when the US players were down on the shot, in a way that is true.

Not the first time going outside has been proposed.

At the 7:13 mark Darryl Peach comes up to Earl Strickland and says something like, "You and me outside after."

Earl responds, "All he wants to do is fight, guys...This guys just threatened me to fight! He can't do that! He can't threaten me to fight!"

I understand the emotions in the match but Rodney has to handle himself better if the fans are loud or whatever he should let the ref handle it. Pool needs to clean up its image if it wants to grow and this behavior from a " PRO " doesnt make our game look good to potential sponsors

Rodney was right.

The European team had total power to turn around and quiet their fans a little while their opponents were at the table, but instead they chose to sit there pretending to be totally innocent. You can see right through that fake 'who me?' look they were giving Rodney.

Glad to see that the American players aren't passive aggressive like other teams are.

I dont think its up to each team to quiet fans there is 2 refs there at all times why doesnt the off camera ref tell them to be quiet and if they dont have them removed. the players are there to play not be crowd control.

With great respect Fran, I must disagree. The inmates don't run the asylum. The players must not police the fans. The promoter must. If there was an issue, it should have been taken up by the folks running the show. Each person paid a price to get into the arena and that gives them rights, but where those rights get in the way of the match, it up to security, promoter, et. al. to step in. To let Rodney or Appleton police the crowd is just ridiculous. Regardless of situation, Rodney was wrong. I tried using a similar excuse years ago in a hustlers shop while learning the game and he told me, "son, if you are concentrating, I should be able to light off a bomb next to your head and it shouldn't make a difference." Turn off the mechanism and stop acting like a league player with a third grade education and a beer buzz. Goodness sakes!

If necessary, it's up to the team captain, CW, to intercede and speak to the refs.

Yeah I agree. He should have been all over it and let Rodney know hes all over it so his player would let it go and focus on playing the match. Roaring to the crowd and mouthing off to the other team doesnt get much done and looks bad for the sport

I agree that it should have been the team captain to step up and say something ,and even halt play until the problem people in the crowd were ejected. But he didn't, did he? He was there, right?

Until you've been in that type of situation you can not understand what it feels like. I do.

No, it doesn't look bad for Rodney. It looks bad for the team captain who didn't step up to defend his team and for the European team for not exhibiting good sportsmanship where all they had to do was turn around and hand signal their fans to quiet it down a bit. Honestly, was that too much to ask?
