The Open division has a few somewhat good players in it.

Guys like:

JUSTIN HALL
DAVID BROXON
and DONNIE MILLS made it out to play in the event. + there are several more short-stops in the field.

If you are near the Tampa area make sure you come out to support these events. The Open Division started today and is a reace to 9 double elimination.

Payouts are:

Tourney - Auction
1. $1,000 - $600
2. $600 - $400
3. $400 - $200
4. $300 - $100
5/6 $155 - $40 each
7/8 $100 each


On Sunday the $500 Amateur event starts at 1pm. Visit www.viking9balltour.com for more information about the events.

in the 1st round we have 2 good match-ups to report.


Sparky Ferrell -vs- Tony "the Sniper" Crosby
Crosby pulled the win at 9-6

and

Corey Deuel -vs- David Broxson
Deuel snapped off that match 9-5

Right now the feature match is Donnie Milles -vs- Shawn "Big Bubba" Putnam

I was there for 6 hours buying beer, but now I'm home watering the plants.

AZB's own James Roberts had Ronnie Wiseman down 4-0 with 2 great kickshots out of Wiseman safeties. Ronnie caught up and it went back & forth with Ronnie Wiseman prevailing. James is playing well and has not yet been illuminated...

There are a number of female players in the tournament, including a very determined Tracie Hines.

I'll be back tomorrow to see how my horses do in the calcutta/auction (including an overlooked Trevor Braymore). I also have Stoney Stone and Ronnie Wiseman.

I'm glad to hear David B. "the red rocket" is playing again. Doug your right about James. He breaks like king kong and hits em' real sporty. Trevor and James usually cash in every event they play.

That goes for me too, Good Luck Mr. Tony Crosby. I got one of the auction blind bids for $130 and couldn't decide between Tony and Wiseman, so I flipped a coin and it came up Ronnie Wiseman.

I also have Stoney Stone (Tony's opponent today) and I'm not so money hungry that I wouldn't like to see Tony Crosby win their match.

There should be some AZBers to sweat in today's Viking Amateur Tournament.

85 total players participated this weekend.

41 in the Open division and 44 in the Amateur Division.

Game 11:

Cd breaks and runs to the 7 but ends up under the ball stuck on the end rail with what looks like NO SHOT. Cd Jacks up and plays safe leaving RW a hit but no shot. RW safe leaves CD a cross corner but CD pooched it and the 7 double banked in the opposite corner and CD gets out. 6-5 Wiseman.
 
Game 11

CD breaks hard and mokes ZERO ball leavinf RW no shot. RW pushes out, CD shoots a carom bank making the 1 ball then kivking at the 2 ball and hanging it in the corner. RW make the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 to win the game.

Correction, after game # 11 the score is 7-4 Wiseman.

Game 12, RW breaks and hangs the 9 in the corner and makes the 5 ball. RW fires the 1 ball in the corner sending the CB 2 rails to pocket the 9 for the win. Score 8-4 Wiseman.
 
Game 13:

RW Breaks hard from the right side making the 6 ball which was the wing ball in the upper right corner and almost scratches but has no shot and pushes out. CD kicks the 1 but makes the 3 then makes the 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 and cuts the 9 in the corner to win game #13. The score is 8-5 Wiseman.
 
game 14:

Note: the players choose to rack for each other which are the default rules on the Viking Tours.

CD breaks from the right side center making the 1 and 9 on the break.

Game score = 8-6 Wiseman.

Game 15:

CD breaks from the same spot making the 1,2 and 6 on the break. CD pooched a makable 3 ball. RW is at the table. he makes the 3, 4 and has to shoot a long rail combo on the 5-8. he makes it and the 5 hangs. only 2 balls left. RW makes the 7 and CD concedes the match.

Wiseman wins the HOT seta over Deuel 9-6.
