Its a little to rich for me. The forearm looks curious and the date of 1930's is also in question.

I do like the antler accents and use them on my own cues.

It's probably a 1940's cue originally but that 14 ounce weight stamp would usually indicate a really skinny cue.

It's worth the money if you like he way it plays and feels and want a classic conversion. The labor of a conversion alone would probably cost that much. One point that may hurt the value is the points don't appear to have as much contrast or color as I would like in a conversion. Could be the photos are a little washed out.

do the math

a decent titlist one piece cue will cost 3 - 400, an old growth shaft 150 - 200, elk joint 40, tips, joint rings, bumper and the finish !!!!!!!!

$685 seems cheap to me

TATE
btw the 14 oz weight stamped on the cue has nothing to do with the size of the cue, the weight was a 1/2 inch metal rod pressed into the butt

i have one of these old one piece cues and it feels so balaned that i was thinking of cleaning it up and playing with it. the butt end is much fatter than todays cues but it feels good in my hand. i could get a 1 piece snooker case to carry it in.

i bought one sight unseen a while back to do a conversion, and when it arrived it was dead straight, i decided not to cut it, after a new tip and a quick repolish its on the rack in my room for guest to use, most of them really don't know what they are playing with. i will use every so offen and love the feel of that one piece, but will agree with you that butt does feel funny at about 1.40 inch diameter.

OK thanks Chuck.

That was cue was mine, I bought it from Jay Helfert. It's a awesome playing cue. I'd buy it back in a heartbeat if I didn't have several cues/projects going right now. I'd see if I could get the price a little lower, but you won't find a better playing cue, I can promise you that ;)

P.s. I personally like when the veneers on titlists are a little washed out. That faded look goes along with the the nice yellow patina a cue gets over time. The vibrant neon veneers just don't accent the age of the cue as well. At least to me :)

for sure you will not be able to get a new titlist conversion done for that price by anyone, unless you get a steal on the one piece blank and then get a double steal on the conversion labor. Even after all that, there is no telling how the new conversion you would have had to move like a ghost to get made so cheap would actually hit. With this cue, you have that luxury of being able to hit balls with it first.

Hey guys I greatly appreciate everyones input, Ill be sure to get some table time with it. Yall might of talked me into it, the owner of this cue has said they would lower the price.

Thanks again everyone.
