Nice, not to far... ever make it over to the tampa area? I think a hand full of us are going to meet up one weekend at Strokers 2 in tampa.

From time to time , haven't shot pool over there tho.

Shoot me a PM sometime or something and maybe we'll try and hook up.

Tell Lee W. hello for me. I don't get out to play much these days. When I was in college I used to live in his pool room till he (his wife rather) cleaned up the joint.

YOU GOTTA LOVE CUEMAKER TIME.... IT'S LIKE SOME OF THEM LIVE ON A DIFFERENT PLANET THAT SPINS SLOWER THAN OURS DOES. IT ALWAYS WORTH THE WAIT THOUGH.

Actually, cuemaker time is not nearly so bad as Native American time. They march to a completely different drummer, and move through time as they see fit.

Now this is NOT meaning to disrespect any Native Americans, but I happen to live near several reservations, and they just kinda get things done in their own way, in their own time...very few here even wear a watch. It works for them, and we who interact with them have just gotten used to it. :)

The agony of waiting for a new cue is torture, but their is something worse.
I recently sent my primary shooting cue , a Richard Black, to Richard to do some minor repairs.
This has been my primary shooting cue for 12 years, I am lost without it.

btw: Very nice cue you got there, looks for sure worth the wait

nitti cue

That one is Nitti preet cue. Tell Chris that Tom from Triple Cross Cues told you so. We met several years ago after a hurricane and he was very willing to show me around. Great guy and fine craftsman.

One thing about "your" waiting anxiety. Maybe you might like to consider the other side of the coin. A cue maker has to look at the cue for all that time in every stage of the cue's completion. Thousands of questions go through their minds all the time like, Will the design come together well? Did I get the veneers in the right order? I've looked at it now for weeks and there's something not quite right, but I don't know what it is? Darn 0.030" rings rather that 0.015"!!!!!!! Ah that's better. How many points???? Darn, he wants it to be 18.8 ounces. How do I remove 1.2 at this point and from where? The best cue builders are just as anxious and maybe even more so than you are. They wouldn't have gotten into this business if they didn't love the outcome. Will this be good spraying weather for the clearcoat? I told the customer next week at the latest before I saw the current weather report. What do I do now? I don't want to put him off again but that darn weather!!!!!

No, I'm not making excuses but before you judge others actions put your self in their place as best as you can and maybe it will be a little easier to cope with the wait. Great cue now go and enjoy the treat. Remember to contact Chris after trying it out and give him good feedback about your experience. Never hurts to help his pride.

Oh no doubt. Alot has changed since I first met Chris and originally planned this cue. Much of that is reason the time frame got stretched out , not to mention that we never had a hard date but just a rough idea. we've become pretty good friends and have somewhat of a working relationship now as we have alot of business/skill commonalities. (Is that a word?) This cue was alot of the test bed for that and the Hopkins show was proof of a few other concepts. So no , there are no issues with Chris on this one at all , just me. :D

Mostly , I'm not one of alot of patience and I knew right up front waiting was going to be the killer.

As hard as it is to do , you just have to tell yourself is will be worth it. This time it was and then some IMO.

:)

Thanks to everyone for all the support and great comments. It definately helps knowing your not alone.

How does it hit?

I'll wait a few days, as I am sure you and your sleeping bag are camped at your local room. lol

Very nice stick...

I love it , it's perfect for me.

It's firm but not 'stiff'. It's very lively feeling , being a guitar player all I can say is it resonates like a fine accoustic guitar. Very smooth and you can feel the hit in the palm of your hand. I can tell how well I hit it just by the feel there.

The first night I went out to play with it , after about 5 minutes , I forgot I had 'The New Cue' and was only focussed on shooting. I figure that meant we got it right. :)

IMO , if it feels like you have to get used to it then maybe it's not the right one for you but that's just me.

Anywho , I think this one will be the one for a long time so I'm as happy as I can be.

there are 2 time tables in this world the conventional one 24 hours/day and 365.25 days/year and the second one being "Cue Makers" time, DON'T confuse the 2 or try and compair them to each other. When a cue maker says 6 months that might be 3 months or 15 years,

Honest to God I just got back a cue I sent to a friend/cue maker in 90 for a repair I just got it back this year at the BCA-it was finished about 6 months ago and stored at a mutial friends house, i had him bring it to the BCA in Vegas. So that was about 18 years and now I cant remember what was wrong, it did need alot of work, but he had a few problems come up, stopped making cues full time, opened a poolroom, sold it worked on cues, stpped opened a bar with 6 tables sold it and went back to cues, I was very happy to get it back its worth $1250. I was never worried about losing it or pressured him to fix it.

What I do between the waiting time for a cue maker to deliver me a cue is simple, just go buy more cues right that you can get out of when your cue you ordered comes in. Its also a good insurance plan as I have ordered cues waited 6 months or a year and didnt like how they played(which sux) but your covered because while your out there buying and selling cues you might find your "player" cue. Dont ever think for a minute that the cue you ordered is gonna be your player because you picked the colors, length, weight. you just never know. Once I ordered a ivory pointed SW and waited just over a year for it, I had no intention of using it as a player it looked(s) so nice I figured it would be to heavy and hard hitting since its ebony/ivory forearm. Turns out to be the softest hitting SW I have ever hit a ball with, it was my player for 7 years, and I still hit balls with it 1 out of every 10 times I play. I bought a closet quesen thats been a long term player. you never know, so go buy cues while you wait.

When you said guitar, Martin D35 jumped into my mind. If that is what you have in that cue, beautiful music is the order of the day for you, my friend.

Enjoy
