I have a buddy that is waiting to have his account actvated. How long does this usualy take???
thanks

The background check usually takes about 6 weeks... 'bout the same waiting period as a Top Secret Cosmic Atomal military clearance.

18 days

Mine took 18 days and when I wrote an email and that day I was able to get in.
So he may want to write them back after the conf email he should have got just after he applied

This is the first I've heard of a waiting period. When I signed up I just signed up and posted. A while ago, of course.

thats how I did it. I was just wondering what the rules are now..

It's different for each individual. Tell me, is your friend known to be a trouble maker? If so that takes longer.

Took me 3 tries...

and an email asking why I can't log in. That's why I have a crummy user name, LOL.

That's funny, brother... I thought that you suffered from Erectile Disfunction and you worked for a huge cigarette manufacturer. :p

Hi
I just joined today after months of lurking. After waiting a couple of hours I replied to the email confirmation asking how long the wait is. I got a "your account is activated" replay right away.
Maybe your friend should try replying to the email and he may get lucky like I did?

Jim

Finally active.

I took the advice of some the other users, and emailed a2z. Activation was nearly immediate. Hey Joe Baker, i'm on! Baker cues are very well made. I have owned, and designed several. Joe is meticulous, and his craftsmanship reflects the care, and pride he builds into every Baker custom cue. they are the best hitting cue for the buck that I have ever had the pleasure of playing pool with.
Thanks all.

Yeah, they might need to do some extra checking, especially if his IP Address is linked to Loogootee, Indiana! :D
