I remeasured and it turns out that is DOES fit.
Looking for excellent condition in Minneapolis general area.
I might just buy a V new. What are the opinions from the mechanics on the V?

This table was still available at Christmas time. It's a diamond table which has been diamondized by Glen himself. I would rather have this work of art than any gold crown ever made, period. And it's just down the road from you.

Very pretty. The Diamond rep sent me a picture of this table (or at least one exactly like it, Cocobolo and shiny). Thing is, my new GC V (Mahogany with Nickle trim) is being delivered on Wednesday. :grin:
Thanks for the lead though. I thought long and hard about the different options. Nostalgia and aesthetics won in the end. And I bet it plays pretty good, too.

Just big enough!! It was a close call. As you can see the room is a T shape. The playing surface is 63 inches from the long wall to accommodate 3-4 inches of back swing when shooting perpendicular and frozen on the rail. There is plenty of space on all other sides (meaning way more than 65 inches from the playing surface), but you can see that there is a wall corner by the corner pocket. That is 60 inches from the edge of the pocket shelf. So if I have a shot where the CB is parked deep in the pocket and the cue is pointing in a very specific direction (generally towards the opposite side pocket), I have to elevate to get back swing. Pointing the cue 1 degree in any other direction and its fine. There is a similar corner on the other side of the table, but it is 62 inches away, so some limited back swing is available. I put slightly more space at the head of table since I play straight pool a lot and spend more time down there.
