So more and more I'm noticing that the rules we have all been told to adhere to are being slaughtered lately. I so often see people posting scam threads or threads asking opinions of certain items. Now I'm no angel but to some degree stuff like that needs to either be moved or deleted. I am happy people want to warn of scammed and what not but according to the rules these threads don't technically belong in that section. I've had PMs sent to me regarding my needing to follow the rules but I see blatant disregard for them by many others. Seeing a post constantly being bumped when nothing is actually for sale or wanted is a little ridiculous. That's is what PMs are great for. Sorry for my long drawn out rant but I feel if some people are supposed to stick to the rules then everyone should. Thank you. Have a great day AZ.

I'm with you on this one. All thou this might not have anything to do with the post or posts you are referring to it's my belief their is some favoritism towards who can & can't break the rules.
 
I have ZERO issue with scam warnings being bumped frequently. On a busy day you can be on page 3 before you finish your morning coffee. Very easy for the "alerts" to get over looked. However I do agree that the constant bump rule breaking does get overlooked for some posters. ( I too have been PM'd for the most minor offenses...)
 
Yeah being warned is where I likely can accept leniency. Maybe there should be a specific section right in wanted/For Sale for that specific stuff. Sticky the heck out of it! Hehehe

Have the mods stopped monitoring the WFS section? Have they just given up due to the fact that the members know and break the rules all the time? Is it even worth the time for the mods to bother with it? It has been an ongoing issue that seems very difficult to resolve. I do not have the answers just questions so I guess I'm no help at all.. LOL!
 
There needs to be a way to move or delete a thread once an item has been sold. People who follow the rules can be on page 10 in no time. Not to mention the needless opening of thread after thread of items that have been sold. Just seems like a flawed system that creates the need for bumping. When some don't bump their own threads, others bump it for them. It's pretty obvious. Is there a way that they can set it up that you cannot reply to a thread and it will be bumped automatically? Set up for pm's only.
 
Well its not just moderators or a lack there of. People in general could make the better choice. Meh things happen I guess.

No, nothing has changed in the Wanted/For Sale area. The bump rules are still in affect. We are still asking users to notify us when someone breaks those rules and we will deal with the issue. No, there are not favorites when it comes to the rules. Anyone who breaks the rules will be warned and then have their threads removed.
 
Please understand that there are hundreds of posts every day. We do not read every one of them. We count on the users to report posts that are out of line and then we deal with them.
 
I estimate that about 40% of the WFS threads have some type of rules violation, from blatant disregard for the 48-hour bump rule,
to answering 20-questions & answers publicly instead of by pm.
Some guys obviously try to get an angle anyway they can, so it would be nice to get everyone on the same playing field.
Nobody likes a forum cop, but it is irritating to watch people break & bend the rules all the time.
I am open for free bumps, just ask and I will bend the rules, why not, everybody else is doing it.
In my opinion the last WFS policy changes were a disaster, and the rules were changed for the wrong reasons.
This forum is big enough now to bring in some additional moderation, or drop the 48-hour rule altogether.
By additional moderation I don't mean putting the fox in the hen-house either.
 
A few of the forums I frequent allow the OP to delete their W/FS posts.
It really helps with the clutter, especially when you wade through an
entire thread to find the item SOLD !
 
I find it funny that some of the forum police and others have a hard time counting. 48 hours is just that. If you post something on Monday at 2pm, and bump it Wednesday at 10am, that is not 48 hours.

I really don't care and mind my own business, but don't get on other people constantly if you break the rules also.

That being said, I love AZBilliards!:)
 
Great Cue! Good Luck With the sale! If I had the $ this would be mine! Just some of the many comments used to bump threads some by comrades of the sellers some honest. But all bumping threads, nothing new. You could go there right now and see those.

Seems like there are hardly any buyers anyway! We do have some world class tire kickers.
I see overpriced items bumped for 4 months or more. Drop the price, take the loss or keep it. The cue market is way off and likely to stay that way.
 
What bothers me is when people bump the thread to put sold in the last post. I wish they would just edit the first post in the thread to say sold and not bump the thing back to the front.
 
Automotive forums that I buy stuff on the ads don't move up.
You post something for sale. You get messages. You marked it sold.
If you post more than 10 items a month you must pay for additional postings.
