Wanted / For Sale section - *yawn*.....

its boring bc its easy. I guess you liked snipping through the clutter, it was like a hobby for you. now its just clean. or is it the products?

I've Been A Forum Zealot Up Until Now.......

A lot of you know I've been a big promoter of paid memberships. In fact, I was the guy that originally coined the popular tag line....."AZ Gold Memberships Cost < 10 Cents a Day.".........Yup that was mine but do you see any gold plague next to my name any longer?

I still think the Forum deserves financial support but I can't bring myself to doing it until the owners revise this site's fonts, colors and informational arrangement & display......the place now makes you read and scan each and every line to see where a new thread begins versus where the G Damn instructions end.......threads aren't easily distinguished.....everything looks alike........there needs to be color distinction and utilization of different fonts to distinguish and separate information.....the design just sucks......and I've told them that and until they get off their ass and do something to fix this, I am financially boycotting the Forum. Don't they use the Forum or just sit on their asses and browse......this new format really is terrible.....some good, new features but the format really sucks......IMO.

Now because I do that doesn't mean you have to do that. But this joint has gone backwards fast in the website design aspect and until they recognize that this site needs to be revised to be more user/reader friendly, I am not donating another red cent to this place. That's just how I see it and I'll leave my banner as is since I was the one that came up with the slogan......I think it's cool and it's just basic sales/marketing 101....it's the lowest possibly stated cost obstacle to overcome. This still amounts to approx. $36/yr. but it sounds so much cheaper.......doesn't it?

Wow. Are you ever cool.

Now because I do that doesn't mean you have to do that.

Where as before when you added the Sig Line, you went as far as basically telling people that they were nothing but Cheap Asses and Low Lifes, and actually to the point of going out of your way to berate members who didn't spring for Gold.

Now, you're saying the opposite.

I will give you a little hint Bava Gone Fool. That is not Marketing Anything 101.

Don't be applying for any positions in the Advertising Field any time soon, OTay.

What will your next slogan be. "Yer a dumb ass and a cheap skate if you don't drink Monster Juice".

Now you have stopped your Gold because of Fonts and Colors. What do you think that you want, or that we need or want. Click on Threads. Read them. Go to next thread. Threads that have new posts are High Lighted. Posts that you have read are not. How much fancier or simpler do you need it to be.

Double U Tee Eff does this have to do with the Wanted/Sale Forum anyway?

You never cease to amaze and give a person a good laugh tho. Thanks for that much, Multiple Gun Boy.

It is a shame I loved going onto the Sale forum and seeing and reading legitimate opinions and facts about the items. The real shame is 5-6 people ruined it all by bumping each other's items with the same ridiculous comments to stay on page one.writing " I can't believe this cue hasn't sold yet?" or " cheap price on such a hard to get cue "
It is comments like these that add no value to the item for sale and when you see the same group doing it over and over it is aggravating especially to those who are trying to sell something without playing games. Now everyone who played by the rules suffer while the guilty parties all jumped over to Facebook.

:rotflmao1:

Guess you see the same thing I see on the Facebook groups.

LOL...looks like the old buddy system where the same little circle

of people just bump each other's stuff up. All trusted sellers...LOL!

Price drop, hits a ton, one day only, super rare....

I agree on this one 100%. We are lucky to have a ton of cue knowledge on AZ. We did lose that one.

But, if possible, and the owners do care, they would do well to take Bishop's idea and implement it if they can. Being able to make a comment without bumping a thread is cool. Also by charging a buck or 2 per sales thread, which could buy you into an earlier bumping time. I always knew Bishop was good for something. Just teasin ya Bud, but you know that.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this site being able to generate a bit of money for the owners. I whole Heartedly agree with everything Bishop mentioned. There is no reason, if you are not a Power Seller and only do one cue on occasion, that you have to put out a lot of money for that. But, a couple of Bucks per Sales Thread wouldn't kill anyone's profit.

Perhaps could be like other sites where you buy bids for a set amount of money. Not saying that one would have to buy bids. Thats a huge hassle and I hate it. But, on the other side of the coin. A person could buy say, 3 Sales Threads for $5. Or however many they thought they may need for the year. This option would also urge a person to putting all their cues into one thread instead of starting a separate thread for each one, essentially bumping every other sales thread down several notches.

Part of the fun for myself, and maybe others, is when you saw an item that you absolutely had to have. It was like being the highest bid at an auction, or being lucky enuff to be at the right place at the right time.

Your post would be the first one in that thread. You could say, "I'll take it, PM sent".

Now ya can't do that. Well, you can send a PM, but like I said, not as much adrenaline involved.

One can still do that in the Machinery Forum tho. Yee Haw.

But in the long run, what would I know. I learned my Marketing 101 from Bava.

I don't like the new change much, but I know it was done to try to improve things.

Other people cannot even post in a 'wanted' thread? If so, I don't like that...many cues are bought when someone offers something, and the original poster turns it down. Many buys are impulse buys, and this new system does seem boring. I barely even check the 'wanted/for sale' section that much.

I know it wasn't perfect, but I liked how it was a couple years ago. We had way more less 'dealer' types, and less forum police. (they may be the worse of all...they certainly are the dorkiest). Just wish people could be courteous of others. That would solve many of the problems.

I'm okay with the Facebook groups except that the community is pretty invariably a bit more, shall we say, "low brow" than the folks on here. What I mean by that is the common denominator over there isn't as well-steeped in cue knowledge as most on AZ are, and in many cases you're especially not going to get far selling the higher end stuff on there. It's a newer thing so I suppose you can't expect all of the most knowledgeable people that are here to just jump straight over to selling there, but the culture difference is a bit shocking to me (and at times very humorous). There was a guy trying to move a Searing on there and he had everyone making fun of him for asking so much for a cue. Same thing with a guy getting ridiculed for asking what I thought was a really good price for a Black Boar. These guys had never heard of BB before so they roasted him. So I guess what I'm getting at is those groups are better for the low-end stuff in my opinion.

I agree. It's not the place to find a high end cue. It's great for break and jump cues though. I got a test hit only Jacoby jump cue with the extension for 110 shipped.

And on the same hand, I'm having trouble moving a PFD or a Farris that I'm asking several hundred dollars under value for. Hard to move anything over 500 there.

I'm just not a fan of the interface here, and the shear volume of listings. Post something, an hour later its 6 pages back. I check Facebook a few times a day anyways, so it's a lot easier for me. You should be allowed to delete your own posting here. That way, they could implement a "2 threads at a time" clause in the wanted/for sale. That would cut down on the volume tremendously.

You Are Pathetic

Bluepigman..... you'll never change and are one of the reasons the Forum had to enact changes......your day will come sooner or later and you'll get banned....... I'll celebrate with glee when it happens......Meanwhile, keep up the juvenile antics since this obviously must coincide with your personality.

Ha. Even my Trucking Co. was called Blue Hog Trucking. I did think about Pig Man Trucking but it just didn't sound right. Had a pic of a cute Hog on the door.

So much for Marketing 101 eh.

Wow, the Forum got changed because of Moi?

Well, if I should get banned and that makes you happy, at least it won't be in total vain.

Bavadin. Have Keyboard, will travel.

But seriously, I call em as I see em sometimes. If I don't agree with any of your posts, that's on you, not me.

Are you aware that at the very bottom of the page you can select from a variety of different display styles? Way down in the lower left corner. I have mine set to Azb v4 and it looks fine to me with great distinction between sticky posts and regular posts.

I didn't want to mention that to him. he seems to know everything so I just took it that he knew about what you mentioned and didn't like that either.

If one bothers, you can also change a whole crap pile of stuff right from your Browser as well.

Page Lay Outs, Fonts, etc. That sort of stuff that the average 10 yr old Power User would already know.

As far as I know, I have mine set to the standard AZ Page Layout that they started with. I tried a few of the others but come back to this one.

I don't require a whole bunch of glitz on a web page in order to enjoy the content. Maybe why I have always liked plain ole Country Girls.

Besides, if major Forum changes were introduced because of posters as myself, maybe that is a good thing. That is what people wanted anyway, right.
