Sorry for the extra bump, looks very interesting, personally I don't like pressing tips but I've only tried without specific tools so far.
How long do you leave the tip pressed with those tools?
I guess you have a different degree of tip hardness after using it, right?
Thanks,
Petros

or just use a bench vice....

These devices flatten the tips, something about which I haven't seen enough data whether is better or not.
The tip presses maintain shape but for me it's not sure if the applied pressure must be limited inside the tip..

Can I ask what exactly it does?
Does it shape it, or make it harder or what?

Well this tip presser presses the tips like master and brunswick to make then a little harder since if you try to used them, it is too soft, by pressing this tips, it prevents mushroom on the side too

This one looks suitable only for 11mm tips, the other one on ebay should take up to 14mm ones but without shaping the tip, at least looks like it doesn't.

Where did you get the photos of the tip presser you are looking for Joyren?

Jeff, i got this picture from FB as someone one Is also looking for it, it got me interested sine i have the Joe picone tip presser and you still need a vice to do it, but with this portable tip presser, you can do you tip pressing anytime anywhere you are.

Not sure about it, about the ebay item, i am just confirning about the diameter of 14mm, but it really looks flat if you press those master and brunswick tips, the side might burst but it is worth to try

If you want to press tips, you would be better off buying a Piccone press from EBay.

They mention that this is just to put a dome on an un domed tip.

This one screws in and altho the design is nice, I would be afraid that from the sideways
skewing motion from screwing the press together, it wouldn't be good for a single layered tip and worse for a layered tip. I mean, once the top of the press contacts the top of the tip, the tip is going to be skewed sideways. Like I said, this could rip apart or weaken a layered tip.

I would seriously stay away from this press.

The Piccone press comes with 2 pistons, one for undomed tips and one for domed tips.

You can press the Piccone presses with either a vice or a C clamp.
