Warlizard - new book with a chapter about pool

Thanks!

This link just popped up on a "Google Alert" for me and I just wanted to say thanks! I'm really glad you're enjoying the book -- hey, it's my life, so that's probably better than you hating it!

I found out about AZbilliards last year in Vegas at the BCA show. I'm a vet and we have a program that helps out troops with computers. We were asked to head out to Ft. Bliss to talk to the soldiers who were deploying. It turned out that what they really needed was equipment for their dayrooms and so, with the permission of the battalion, I started scouting people who could help.

To that end, my wife, kids and I headed up to Vegas where I was hoping to get a few people who could donate tables, cues, you know, basic Army dayroom type stuff, to the guys who were getting back from tours overseas.

The BCA members were awesome and I met the guy who published AZBilliards. So many people wanted to help, it was just crazy. I went back to the battalion and they told me that it was wonderful, but they just needed to run some stuff through legal. Huh? What stuff? Well, it turns out you can't just donate stuff to the troops. There's a maximum limit of $1000. I said, "Um, guys, I'm not personally donating more than $1k. I'm just helping to coordinate." They said it didn't matter.

So basically, we had a ton of people who wanted to help give the troops a nice place to relax when they got back from combat and the Army said no.

Oh well. One good thing came out of the trip: I beat Jasmin Ouschan in a game of 8-ball.

(only one and she destroyed me the other 4 times but hey, it's still cool)

I am buying two of your books today. I am going to send one to a friend who's in a long-term facility with not much activity, and the other one, I'm keeping for myself.

Thanks for posting on our pool forum!

I just read the exerts on amazon, this book looks like it will be funny as hell! I got one on the way and i got a feeling I wont put it down till I'm done!

BTW, the first paragraph in chapter one is what sold me, after i read that I had to buy it. Thats the best opening paragraph I had ever read!

It's funny 'cause it's true!

Sadly, all the stories in the book are true. I'd like to point out that while it's funny to read now, you cannot possibly imagine the shock I felt having the girl I'd promised to marry tell me that.

But hey, I'm happy as a clam now with the perfect wife and 3 little nutjobs making my life hell.

I hope you enjoy the book and have a great day.

By the way, just being on this site makes me remember how much fun I had playing tournaments. I think it's time to join a league.

You should do that. Leagues are so much fun. I'm not sure what part of the country you live in, but there are several leagues which offer good competition as well as a pleasant comaraderie of pool peeps!

Where the sun is about 3 inches from the surface of the earth.

It's hot. Damned hot.

Oh, man, Scottsdale, AZ has a ton of pool peeps.

You should contact akaTrigger on our forum. I just read that she has a website called poolstudents.net that has some good info on it for students.

Nice site!

Going through the site, I realized how much is happening here. Makes sense -- you can't go outside!

Thanks for the tip.
