warped house cue

retired w/pool table
Hello all; I am new to this forum and for my first post I have a question, which may show many of you how green I am .
First of all I have bought my first pool table for home use, a used Western Billiards 8 foot table and along with it came some Duffiern 1 piece cues. Three of them are warped a bit and before I make walking sticks out of them I want to ask if these cues can be straighten or do most of you just throw them out. I can replace the cues for about $50 each so if they could be straighten I'll bet the price is more than buying a new cue.
I did a bit of a search and seen discussions of cues but I did not find one on what to do with a warped cue stick.
Thanks all in advance, and I look forward to learning much from this forum.

I would not bother trying to straighten them, it most cases they will not stay straight. If you do a little research you can replace the cues for much less than $50 each, Check out Meullers Recreational Products I would recommend the Cuetec One peice cues they are great for the price.

Thanks for the input

He guys, thanks for the input... I'll check out the site, but I do have 3 good ones yet.

You can get new Duffering house cues from ebay for a lot less than $50 a piece. You can also get some Valley house cues that are made in the USA for way less also. Or, you can just start collecting high-end cues! lol!

First of all Congrats on your new table!!! Welcome to the forum. I would recommend getting a decent two piece cue to use at home and get used to. It will be no time until you are itching to go out and play some local tourneys and will need it to travel.

Welcome and good luck,
Darin

Welcome to AZ. The guys are right, there really isn't much you can do with warped house cues.
With that said however, W.C. Fields could play remarkably well with one.

I'll check out eBay and see what I come across: as for tourney's I'm a ways from that...

No Tyme ...

I have never seen a warped piece of wood straightened that didn't warp again.

BTW ... welcome aboard, the forum always needs new people.
