Saw the match - boy were you different from what I have seen before in your final matches something different in your stroke - not showing a level of frustration that I always sensed in your previous matches when you missed it would carry over to the next set and that bank on the 2 was a real smart move becuase if you make it you are on the 3 and the cue is heading down table and you were on the hill - keep shooting like this and the best is yet to come - that Tony Crosby must be a real good coach .
 
Thanks everybody. I have been working realy hard on my tempo and composure. Tony has been great and Buddy Hall has recently worked with me as well. I'm just so happy to bring it home one time!
 
Monica Wins

I noticed you are holding you cue differently. Your right hand holding the butt of the cue is now more straight up and down and not angled in as I have seen before.

Did you make this change on your own? Also I see you have learned to control you temper (which is probably the toughest thing to learn).

I'm sure you will now win your share of WPBA tournaments. You have a ton of talent and can be the number one player in the WPBA. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I noticed what a classy bunch everyone was!! Kelly was so supportive and such a great sport! You were so great in the match and the final rack was awesome!!

One women even handed over a tissue.

GREAT WIN MONICA!!! Don't forget what got you there. Please continue to seek the wisdom of Buddy Hall and I will see you on the Monica show instead of the Allison Fisher show everyday.

I must say that Buddy Hall is awfully proud of you Monica. Everyone was watchin football at the pool hall today, and he broke down his cue, quit practicin, and told one of the employees there, "Can we get ESPN on that other TV? I wanna watch pool!"

We sat there and watched you play Vivian and he sat there, and admired the way you handled yourself. I can't remember how many times he said, "She's one of my students. That's Monica Webb, and she's playin good right now."

Just thought you might like to know that you had a crowd pullin for you at Magoo's in Tulsa today. Espesially Buddy goin, "Ya!, that's my student". lol
 
I didn't know it was on TV unti I saw this thread yesterday. Managed to catch the last couple racks of Sarah V Kelly, and the whole final match.
From the first bank on the 1 ball to the last bank on the 2 you played the total match. Kept patient in the safety battles and made them when you had the chance.
Even knowing the outcome, it was exciting to watch. Both you and Kelly played great pool. You just put it into top gear after she scratched, and there was no looking back.
Great Job! and Kudo's on your first (of many) big win
