Watch world snooker final

Thanks. Is Higgins the guy who was involved with the scandal with the Russians or is that someone else?

That was him, he was cleared of wrong doing but his manager was judged guilty.

Judd is giving me a heart attack with all the shots he's going for. I think he may play a little TOO aggressive sometimes.

I'm calling Higgins for this one. John is too solid, too unflappable and too experienced. Judd either needs to these shots to start going in, or he needs to dial it down ever so slightly. For example, going for a tough combination, fluking the ball and then going for a tough black.

To be fair he's been potting similar shots all tournament. They had a top ten shots of the tournament yesterday and 4 or 5 were his, including number 1. Best shotmaker I've ever seen and I wouldn't count him out just yet, he's got a great temprement as well.

I know, I've been watching :). I just feel like it's been catching up with him this session.

But it appears he is about to pull one back.

Holy crap at that red. Maybe I'm wrong haha.

If Judd wins this, it may be one of those turning point World Championships that we remember.

I have never played snooker so could someone explain what just happened? Judd made a red and instead of potting a color he laid the white up next to the yellow. Higgins then tried a 3 rail kick but scratched. Then he got to try it again with the same result. Then he got to try it again and committed some sort of foul.

I don't get it!

Also, why, 3 shots earlier did they both shoot 2-3 rail safeties instead of just potting the red in the lower left corner with, what looks like shape on the black?

In snooker, if you don't make a legal contact on a ball you're opponent has the option of making you shoot the shot again from the same position, and he can make you keep shooting it until you make a good hit. Each time you miss your opponent is awarded 4 points.

I don't remember the other shot you're talking about with the red with shape on the black.

Can't remember the shot you're talking about but I'll assume that it was a red down the cushion, which if so is not a possible option from distance.

Unlucky Judd, I feel he'll be a multiple world championship winner if he just tightens up his shot selection a touch and improves his cue ball a little. Good match, just feel Judd winning would have been better for the sport.

Fabulous tournament - best I can ever remember. Pool has a lot to learn from snooker. Snooker is an exciting spectator sport and pool is dull as ditchwater - how does that happen? Kudos to the BBC for its coverage, which was superb as ever.

Trump could well be the new Jimmy White. There are big deficiencies in his game - he flatters to deceive a little, I think, and doesn't score as heavily as he should - but I have NEVER seen such a good potter. He is simply frightening - easily the greatest cueist there's ever been.

He has a lot to live up to now...

You have to pocket a red, then a color, then a red, etc.

On the shot you are talking about he missed shape on a color so he played safe. In snooker you don't have to drive a ball to a rail for a good safe, just make contact. That's why he rolled the cue ball against the yellow. If a player scratches or fails to contact the correct ball, the incoming player has the option of shooting from where the cue ball stops or making his opponent shoot the shot again.

Aside from that, I'm surprised Higgins is still allowed to play. The kid missed an easy one rail kick and an easy 6 ball at the end. May have been nerves but with Higgins involved it may have been something else.

Higgins was suspended for six months, which isn't so bad when you look at Quinten Hann. Quinten Hann got banned from snooker for 10 years in 2006!

8 years, and that was mainly because he did not show up to the hearing, which they took as an admission of guilt.

Anyone have a direct link?
I was late seeing this so maybe its over but I couldn't find a link on any of the pages.
Thanks.

Thank you, I will be watching all of these.
I just rebuilt an old snooker cue and have a new found interest in the game once again.
