Watching Mosconi Cup NOW

If this goes to 5-0, it will be an insurmountable lead considering Europe has won the last 3 years, they will have the mental edge to soar all the way through to the finish line.

for what it is worth....by default I would recommend giving the livesport.tv first a try. Sure you pay something but I just paid something like 4EUR.....that would be less than 6US$ for the entire tournament!
The guys at Matchroom are doing a bang up job giving us a really good entertainment so the least we can do as pool-watching public, is to reward this a little bit and pay for the viewing rights... yeah yeah...I know...the livesport.tv might not work on mobile-devices so fair enough....but still....

Just my 0.02..

That's just the problem -- we (those of us in the U.S.) can't.

We get this error:

Due to territory licensing restrictions, POOL is unable to broadcast these events in your territory. Please check back later as restrictions vary for different events.

So workarounds (different sites) are the name of the game for us.

Maybe you have not read the 50-plus posts on this forum in the past 2 days, but if you live in the United States, you can NOT get the livesport.TV. Nobody in the United States has access to that Livesport.TV. THey have banned us from watching it.

Europe can watch it. Asian can watch it. Philippines can watch it. Canada can watch it. Mexico can watch it. Africa can watch it. Puerto Rico can watch it. United States CANNOT watch it.

ouch....sorry to hear that...
must be that someone in the US has bought exclusivity for broadcast....

There is no unity. That's the problem. Team Europe is in the front row wathcing their team mate. Team USA is not up front. They're sitting with their wives and girlfriends. Therein lies the difference of the unity.

I wasn't able to watch from work, but this statement that they are sitting with their wives and girlfriends indicate their team unity is secondary. It's a fun event, but they should place their team/country first AT this event.

I was referring to Keith McCready
he would be a big plus for this team. I'm sure he would put a fire under their backside.it looks like the euro team knows the definition of team vs the US team that doesnt have a grip on that concept. a team players is in the front room supporting whoever is playing

Their mindset and ethics are quite different than growing up in the land of hard knocks here in the states. Many of our players have learned to manage and control the moment when they cut their teeth learning their trade in the trenches at times. Thorsten for example, doesn't gamble, works out and manages his endeavor quite differently than our players. Many of our greats are more concerned about getting the Cash, than going about their endeavor in another manner, they have to, if they want to eat. And breaking from the box has seemingly limited the break control, so other mental aspects of ones game are even More important than a break and run. This could easily be a tipping point, old school against the new generation of Players. Of course, this is my Opinion Only.:groucho:

Buddy was in the stands for a while and the camera focused in on him for a few seconds. I took a quick screenshot but he had his head turned talking to someone behind him.

This is not going well for the USA Team.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a different kind of day.

From a talent standpoint, I believe the teams are similarly matched. From a coaching perspective, at least from listening to Ralf, I fear the European Team is simply being coached better. Maybe it's just a different mindset when it comes to coaching pool in Europe. The European players seem almost giddy about their coach and what he brings to the team. I don't think I ever hear the USA Team talk so enthusiastically about their coaches in any years that I have been watching the Mosconi Cup.

Hopefully Buddy will be able to share some of his sage wisdom with these young guys and get them back on track tomorrow.

The European Team essentially trains all year together. The American Team has very little time to devote to training with each other. I think at this time, the European Team has the upper hand on the mental side of the game. The European Team also looks hungrier than our guys.

Watching and listening to the mikes on the U.S. Team, it almost appears that our guys are focused but that they may be focused on the wrong things right now. We can only hope for a major change tomorrow.

To take some of your points in turn...

1. Tomorrow WILL BE A DIFFERENT DAY - IT'S TUESDAY!!!
Wether or not the outcome of results will be different, who knows. But you gotta fancy Europe to inflict more pain. With such a lead, Europe can now afford to lose each day by 1 point and still retain the cup! Pressure can now only come from within Camp Euro.

2. Do Europe really train together all the time? I thought they were all out playing world events?
HOWEVER, I it would be fair to say that when they do practice (alone) they are practising the same way, with similar philosophies!

SO WHERE DOES MOTIVATION FOR THE USA COME FROM?
Like it or not (and I've written this elsewhere previously) throw a $100,000 bounty to the USA and you will see motivation and a possible turnaround...
EUROPE, however are SERIOUSLY playing for EACH OTHER! There lies the difference from what I'm watching. After losing the first point, USA started moaning / *****in and this just seeped throughout the team thereafter -
and I have the luxurious benefit of RECORD & PLAYBACK!

I would love to be wrong, as a USA victory would be great for USA Pool and I get to watch more live action, drink more beer and eat more chicken fingers!
Disappointedly, after one days play, this event could be over by Day 3...

Some of the European pool players have financial assistance from their respective countries. That's always a plus.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing a more positive day for the USA Team.

A few posters -- that are physically there and saw him -- say he is on a scooter now (i.e. the Hoveround). :(

-Sean

yes. flew in @ SUN. it's a red hoveround. he was there all day yesterday, parked on the sidelines @ right side/Europe. approx 3pm @ break, he went over to left side & sat @ front row near Melanie. got a standing ovation as Johnny introduced him. his shirt was red.

And for good reason.
