I'm not up on waterbed heaters. If I put one inside my 7' Valley with 3/4" slate do you think it will help the humidity problem I have most mornings? I can deal with the slow cloth in high humidity but the rails are way to bouncy and short as hell. My table is on patio in screened room. If you think it will help, is a 325 watt one OK? Thank you. Johnny, why don't you just cover your Valley with an electric heating blanket at night, turn it up to high, then take it off in the mornings when you want to play pool, the playing surface will be nice and dried out and warm that way. Either that or put a space heater inside the table like I said before, and turn that on an hour or so before you get ready to play pool;) or close in the porch completely, and install a portable air conditioner....or move to another state...with less humidity:grin:

OK, thank you Glen. I think that about covers everything:D. I'll do the electric blanket tonight. and order a space heater now. I didn't realize I only had to use the space heater for an hour or so or I would have got one when you told me about it. Thanks again, you've been very kind and helpful. Johnnyt

What are your guys thoughts about a battery heater or 2 glued to the bottom of the slate plugged into a timer to run a couple hours of the day?

Also, what does the heating element on a 3 cushion table look like?

These are great ideas especially with the heating blanket....

IMOP i would shy away from the space heater as thats a fire hazard not to mention it would be in a small enclosed space.....that thing could suck up some dust under there catch fire and burn your home down brother......

Don't think it doesn't happen....it don't take much and I've known too many people with houses that ended up in ashes from simple issues like what we are talking about.

Now if you could get a low profile oil filled heater that would be much safer

Not sure if it would fit (height wise) but here are the dimensions

Dimensions are 9" x 4" x 15". 3-year limited warranty.

Cost $30

hope your well brother,

Why not just get some of the stuff they use for heated floors and attach it to bottom of slate? I'm sure someone can figure out the logistics.

heated floors are done by circulating hot water from the hot water heater with nylon flex pipe. so thats out of the question

Well...I guess you could rip out the innards of a heating blanket and use that?

Chris

P.S. - I'm damn sure I have seen heated floors without water in them. Kind of looks like one of those orange snow fences.

Why even rip the innards out....just do like RKC said and just drape it on like a cover? Its the easiest way and the cheapest...why make it difficult? Plus the fire hazard issue all over again.

Possibly thats the way I know some of my friends that build custom homes do it...but there probably is another type of installation.

I like some of RKC suggestions. I think a waterbed heater/element would burn out??? I found this alternative if you wanna spend the $$$. Hope it helps, Ron :D

The electric blanket idea gets my KISS nomination!
