Wavy Inlays

Cue ball draw with this?
Silver Member
Does anyone have an example of cue that has wavy inlays in the butt sleeve that go around the sleeve? I would like to use this in a cue design and I have not seen this.

Closest!

That is the closest I've seen. I want the inlay to go around the butt sleeve and have 4 low sides of the wave and 4 high sides of the wave and have the difference between the high and low of about 3/4 of an inch. I wish I could draw it. It would problably look like ~~ going around the butt sleeve.

How about like a Samsara cue??

I would love to see a pic of that design. I just went to his site and could not find any wavy rings around the buttsleeve. Very nice cues and good prices. Very good prices!!

I think I know which cue you are talking about, we used to call them "wormy" things. I believe McDaniels did the cue but can't be sure, plus there is someone else that did that pattern but the name is escaping me.

When I saw the cue it was on the West coast, does that help? =)

Edit: Joss East also did a cue with those in the early 90's I believe, will try to find a picture for you.

ok here is some info for you.when i was in illinois early this year i visited a great pool hall it is called PRO-TYME in Orland Park illinois.i was there with the Great straight pool player Donovan.the owner of PRO-TYME Ed Hiller showed us the cue in question that he was selling in his Pro shop.it was simplistic yet very ornate and gorgeous with it's one swirl made out of i believe sterling silver.contact Ed for more info on this cue.his number 708 403-0600 cst.i hope Donovan can chime in on this ..:)

Here is the one cuejoey was refering too. It was hands down one of the most beautiful cues I've ever seen and hit.

Harvey the inlay is any design that you cut out of the wood and then cut out another opposing part to put in it.to add contrast...like a piece of a puzzle...hope that helps.:)

Yes I know but by calling it a wavy ring instead of wavy inlay simplifies what I 'think' he is talking about. When you say inlay you get the pictures people have shown. If you say ring you will only get pictures of wavy rings 'which is I think what he is talking about' instead of everything under the sun. I guess. Hell I don't know I was trying to help.:D

Wavy Inlay/Ring?

I hope I can explain the concept. Let's try this. If you put a rubber band around the butt sleeve and then slide part of it up and slide part of it down and did this all the way around the butt sleeve. That then would be wavy around the butt sleeve. I'm sorry if I am not commuicated this properly. I wish I could draw it. It would look similar to ~ but going all the way around.

I was thinking inlay but a ring would be just fine if it is wavy and goes all the way around the butt sleeve. Thanks again for all your help.:)
