Steve's success is the result of hard work and dedication paying off. I am so happy he has done so well this year. Keep up the great shooting, Steve!

that's a pleasure to see someone posting here and giving valuable advice - get past the likes of Archer in such a game as straight pool. C'mon Steve!

I agree. He is quite a player, and we're fortunate to have him posting here.

Thanks for the support everyone... mighty kind of you. While I was disappointed in my two losses at the 32-player level, there wasn't much I could do. Yes, I squandered about two opportunities in each game, so I could've put up a better fight - but my opponents played very well and all I can do is congratulate them.

Btw, anyone who believes Ignacio learned the game last week, as he was telling people, is high on something. It's belittling to the complexities of straight pool to let someone claim that and not call him on it. He was running the balls beautifully.

The three games I'm most proud of were my loss to Babica, my win against Jasmine, and my win against Rolon. I felt the most comfortable in my loss to Babica, and played what I felt was the closest to my "real" game.

Against Jasmine, she pulled ahead about 70-54 with a run of 40 and instead of just handing her the win I came back with a 43 before missing an awkward shot.

Got out in two innings against Rolon, each of us beginning the game with about 3 excellent safeties. He finally left a little too much and I ran 70, my high run of the tournament.

The win against Archer was notable only because when he missed at 141, I collected myself and ran the 36-and-out from 114. We were each having problems running balls on that table so I switched to at least one behind the rack breakshot, which worked out.

I had such a good time hanging out with all my friends, and making new ones. I'll probably write more about the tournament soon but for now I'll just say Dragon really puts on a tremendous tournament.
