We may never see such stars as Wu or Yang in American Tournament

Any chance we'll see your room mate at DCC? It's been so long I forgot his name, Kurt or Kent or Kris or ???

LOL! Could be. It's too far off to say.

As an aside, when we first went on the pool tournament trail together, I put 60,000 miles on my car within a few years of attending pool tournaments, two, three, and four times each and every month. :o

I have a 2007 car today, and it will be 2 years old next month. :)

It has 4,300 miles on it, total. :grin-square:

language problems

Hey Sunnyday, I have seen the Taiwanese players at tournaments in Asia and they always make a good impression both in playing the game and in how they handle themselves off the table. It seems to me that they always travel in a group and I think the main problems they have with traveling to the U.S. to compete are first language, virtually none of them speak any English and secondly its gotten increasingly hard to travel to the U.S. with the visa issues.

I read on the front page about a tournament that took place in the Carolinas this past weekend, the Jacoby tour, I think. Shawn Putnum won $1,500 for first place, and Earl Strickland won $75 for fifth place. Though I appreciate Jacoby and especially all regional tours just like it, it is difficult to swallow, seeing two world champions competing for this kind of dough.
To think that players with the skill of Earl and Shawn are playing for that kind of money is sad especially when you think of other sports and what those players make. Without corporate sponsors, like for example golf and tennis have, pool will never see prize money equal to the players talent level compared to those sports.........

That kind of mileage (I put 60,000 miles on my car within a few years of attending pool tournaments) will wipe out your cars value in a hurry and can get quite expensive with today's car prices!
