Website Problems & Update Delays for Predator Int 10-Ball

We apologize for the delays and tech difficulties during the event on the site.
This was primarily due to the fact the Riviera Hotel has had massive problems with their hosting server which resulted in Kozoom's broadcast and web updates to malfunction often.

We know the latest news is outdated, there are actually several new stories that would have posted but the tech teams were busy trying to resolve all the problems with the streaming as well.

The new news updates should be up today later and tomorrow.
Archive footage of the matches filmed should be available soon as well.

We hope next year all these problems will be avoided.

No need to apologize,the feed was a little choped up,but all and all it was great.Plus,it was free,full of world-class players,and I really enjoyed it.I see on here were you get a little hate mail,can'nt make everbody happy.Looks like to me you are doing way more than your share to help the game of pool.....GODS SPEED-CARRY ON.........

Thanks Charlie for doing this for the pool players. Everything has its problems but you guys did the best with what you had to work with. I really enjoyed watching the matches. It was great to see such good players many of whom i had never seen before. Thanks again:) , Doug

Get with the guys from TAR...they can show you how it should be done.

Thanks for understanding. Actually it would be good for the Kozoom team to ask TAR how they avoided the tech problems. I heard TAR had problems as well the first day of broadcasting.
 
It would be great if you could have DVD's of the matches for reasonable prices available

TAR has its own problems sometimes. Im just glad someone out there is making things viewable for those of us that cant travel the tourney circuit.

One more note of appreciation.

Your internet broadcasts from the Riviera rated as 'Excellent' in two fundamental categories: commentary, and video production. Congratulations on the array of talent and expertise you managed to get into the announcers' booth, with special mention to the Tony Drago appearance. And your multiple, fixed-camera coverage was outstanding. This required someone who actually cares about the game to switch camera shots intelligently, and it was some of the nicest live-coverage work I've seen.

I also enjoyed the over-all design of your website for this event -- though I'm sure you'll be looking at other users' comments for hints on what might be improved.

As for the technical problems, which were significant, I have a feeling that the =next= effort will go much more smoothly. One of the things you should definitely consider is adding real-time support and status updates for people who are having problems. Failure to include this element conveys a message that you "don't care" -- which, to some, can negate all of the things you've done right.

Thanks for the input and we will try to utilize suggesstions next year.
Our staff and team were under alot of deadlines and work as growing pains of first time working in that arena.
We only had less than 60 days to put this event together for the BCAPL.

we were at the mercy of Riviera's tech team and internet servers.

Overall we were pleased with the way everything turned out.

I imagine that many pro events are at the Riv because it is cheaper than other strip hotels...but it is SUCH a dump.

But ya gotta go where you can afford to go.

I for one appreciate your pulling off the Tourney on such short notice, I was considering not going to Vegas when the WPBA pulled out. Your staff worked very hard and the attendance was better for their efforts.

Historically, only a few of the thousands of BCA players pay and attend the pro tourney because of an interest in the pros or time between matches.

The VIP seats were very confortable and well situated.

The general admission seats were not elevated enough so the back
rows had to stand to see - why I upgraded to VIP.

I see that there was an overhead camera over table 1 but no monitors
for the audience to see.

The font size of the scores on the laptops were too small to be read across the room - the old flip cards worked well but they should have been double sided.

There could have been more volunteer refs and timers on the floor at all times.

But all in all a Great Show.

I thought it was a helluva tournament with a GREAT field of players. Many great matches all through the tourney. I enjoyed doing some commentary with the French crew from Kozoom. They were great as well, and did their darndest to make everything work.

I think we should all realize that internet broadcasting is in its infancy, and the use of this medium has a long way to go, both from the sender's end and the receivers as well. TAR and people like Kozoom are on the cutting edge of this new technology. It won't be too long before all these bugs are worked out and we are receiving signals comparable to television reception. I look for this to happen within the next 2-3 years. By then, all our favorite television shows will be available on the internet as well.

Hope they figure it out soon cause I pulled out several patches of hair over it... and I don't have that much to spare.

Charlie, we need more player/promoters like you. I really enjoyed the presentation, and I do have some suggestions. (1) I think you would do well to spend a little time with ?Toastmasters? or another organization that develops public speaking skills. (2) When introducing a player of Bustamante?s stature, it?s not enough to say ?one of the greatest players? ? you should be prepared to announce his most prominent championships. (3) If a national anthem is to be played, good quality sound is important. The Malta anthem sounded terrible.
