I was wondering if any cue makers ever considered using brass for weight bolts. I have heard all the talk about the brass 3/8 pin being better than stainless. Some say because brass is used in musical instruments that it has better harmonics. I just have an opinion that brass should be tried for weight bolts. Any opinions on this;) ;)
 
It's true.
Scientific studies have proven that brass reasonates about 1 khz higher than SS.
That should make the cue at least 20% more accurate.
It was also proven .308 minor intead of .3125 minor caused the cue to have 20% less squirt.
Btw, musical grade brass is the only way to go.
No plumbers' brass please.

I guess it would be ok. I dont know if it would even matter being that far back. Most of the time u use .5oz aluminum just to hold on buttcap unless specified. If it threads it will work. I think finding someone that makes them might he harder

No bolt at all would be fine. I find that everyone likes something different. I myself like for a cue to have a place for a weight bolt because that seems to be one of the first thing people ask is what does a cue weigh. Everyone wants a different weight. The reason i was asking about brass as a weight bolt was if a bolt becomes loose it makes noise. So i had a thought, is the noise from vibration of the hit. Then that led to the question i have, would a brass weight bolt resonate better. Would it matter at all.
