I was just wondering if anyone knows how heavy each piece of slate is? I know that my table has three 1" slate pieces.
I just talked to Glen about this yesterday and my table is a pro 8 and he said each section weighed about 205. I am guessing that a 9'er would be just a few pounds more.Bigtruck said:Post this in the table mechanic section. You will get an answer quicker.....or pm Realkingcobra!

Cuebuddy said:I believe that Real King Cobra told me that mine were right at 246 lbs each. The table is a Diamond pro 9 ft and the slate thickness is 1 3/16 of an inch. When I tried to help him lift these on the table he said he didn't need help and then proved it.:yikes:
Depends on the size of the table!racer rx said:I have a table that needs to be temporary moved to allow for the instalation of our new carpet.

Something 1 inch thick has 1/12 of a cubic foot per square foot. So your slate weighs 168/12 = 14 pounds per square foot.
If you have a 9-foot table your slate is probably about 54" x 104" overall, which is 39 square feet, so it weighs 39 x 14 = about 546 pounds overall. If it's 3 pieces, they're each about 546/3 = 182 pounds.
