Weird little shots?

... You need to sink the 8, and you can do it by shooting the wired 8-3 combo into the pocket with very high soft follow, and then letting the forward roll of the cue ball double kiss the 8 into the pocket. The hard part is where to aim. You can't aim as if cutting the 8 directly into the hole or the cue ball just passes the 8 without double kissing. You can't hit it right in the fact either, or you double kiss the 8 but send it in the wrong direction. The best I've been able to figure out is you want to cut the 8 slightly in the direction of the pocket, but the hit is very close to full. And you can't hit hard or else the 8 caroms too quickly in the wrong direction away from the hole, and simply knocks the cue ball out of the way.
I can see making the 8 if the cue ball is nearly in line with the two balls, but I really can't see it happening with the angle shown which looks to be 30 degrees or more between the approach of the cue ball and the line of the two balls. I'll try it, but I'm very dubious.

Do you use a heavy cue ball?

I pulled this one off on McAnnich years ago and he wents ballistic. He thought he had me good.

Place to ob frozen to the end rail and each other. Now, take the ball on the right and move it off the rail about a 1/16". Shoot at the ball frozen to the rail and call it to bank backwards into the corner at the other end of the table. It will carom off the other ob and line up for the corner pocket.

It's not a trick shot, it does require seeing the proper carom angle and then the proper angle for the bank shot.

Freeze an ob to the side rail so the edge of the ob is at the first diamond. Freeze another ob to it so they are at a 90 degree angle to the rail. Place the cb on ball up from center spot of the table. Hit the ob not on the rail straight on with inside english. The ob you hit will double kiss to the far corner.

edit: You can also hit the ball frozen to the rail first and bank it cross corner, but it is not as reliable.

ball first then rail first

Bob- here's one, can't remember if I discovered it or was shown it. Doesn't matter.

8 ball and another ball (say the 11) frozen together on the side rail very near the corner pocket. The 11 is nearer the corner. The challenge is to make the 8, but striking the 8 either ball first or rail first results in the 11 going in, and the 8 ball not wiggling at all.

The solution is to shoot a SLIGHT ball first hit, but with inside english. The 11 ball moves towards the pocket and clears the way so the cueball then goes into the rail and spins back into the 8 like a traditional rail first shot, cutting the 8 ball into the pocket immediately behind the 11.

Sorry I don't have a working diagram, but again, it's a cool way to pocket two balls frozen together on the side rail in one stroke. They have to be near the pocket, it's hard to get much speed on the 8. Ideal angle of approach with the cue ball is maybe 45 degrees or so.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks, I think that can work.
