uncle sam wants his money so these will be forced into a case till i get back... the Ernie Martinez and the Jensen titelist didn't get a single bad again on ebay with 40+ watchers..

I am getting out of the cue dealing game as of now...

I have the following that will go to the highest offer via pm or email on 5/10

ernie Martinez # 423 curly birdseye maple

jensen Titelist conversion

bacote Sneeky pete from the shop of Thomas wayne

ebony 4 point buckeye burl jacoby

cues with 3/8 x 10 and or z-2 shafts for trade and $$$ offers will be concidered but i am tired of the low ball offer bullshizzers sending e mail to joecal1956@yahoo.com or pm's so here is a chance for the vultures to eat..

I have had it with dealing in wood.. I will keep my playing cues and occasionally buy some but dealing has become a joke!!!

reselling cues

i can understand your frustration in trying to buy and sell cues at a profit. you should try building cues and selling them at a profit. as of late i have found a lot of so called dealers buying my cues and trying to double their money. if they dont make the sale they return the cue with some lame excuse about the wood being too dark or too pale, or because of the gravity of the earth causes to much spin on on their left hand reverse bank combinations. this waste my time and cost me money on shipping. i know it would be great if a person could just go on line and buy and sell cues at a great profit and get rich, but i dont think its going to happen to most of small dealers. i'm not ragging you for wanting to sell a few cues and trying to make a couple of bucks, but this seemed like a great thread for me to express my opinion of so called cue dealers who have nothing better to do than waste my time and money. i dont want to step on any toes, but i'm just telling it like i see it. chuck

Reselling cues.....

I guess I am a little confused... as usual.

When you buy and sell cues you are taking a risk. If you didnt sell them it isnt the worlds fault, its probably is yours. Sorry but true.

Just some of my thoughts.

I dont care what you paid for them, they are worth what you can sell them for. If you didnt get what you paid for them, learn your lesson and move on!

Stop the damn whining.

If you REALLY need to sell them and you wanted 900 and you are going to get 800 you are really not breaking my heart.

I have an advantage where I dont HAVE to sell anything, but I would sell ANYTHING for the right price.

Secondly, you are not selling it because you have paid too much and now wont take (fair market) value. Gripe, moan and groan that you arent making hundreds on cues, ugh.

People crack me up, I am sorry for you money woes, but I buy cues from people all the time. They always come to me when the are stuck, broke etc. I make an offer on their cues, usually pretty low, or offer to list their cues on ebay or here on AZ. Most of the time my offer is pretty fair as it is close to the amount paid on ebay. But I often have to hear that they paid $1000 for it and now when I offer $400 they seem offended. I tell them to not sell it to me if they think it is too low.

VERY FEW CUES make people money, or have high desirablility, which equates to demand.

Good luck, but these are my thoughts,

Ken

I gotta agree- you aren't forced to sell to anyone. If an offer seems low- just shrug it off. If you think you can hold out- don't sell. But don't whine about getting low ball offers either. Bottom line is the item is only worth what people will pay for it. Take it or leave it- It takes 2 to agree to a deal.

I also agree and was tempted to post something along those lines, but then I saw daytonajoe's avatar and immediately travelled to a land of peace and happiness, forgetting any such criticisms ;)

i hear that, i gave him a rep point because of it!

This forum used to be a reasonable place to buy and seel cues. The market has died down and i have decided that the few that are grabbing a cue for $215 and selling here a week later for $350 have taken over. I have been happy in the past to trade around, but when trying to sell, all you get are lowball offers. so I am done with it.. Just a fact...

I have an offer of $575 on the Martinez at this time
and $800 on the Jensen

the offer process ends @ $ 900 on Jensen and $625 on the Martinez or Friday May 10th @ 4 Pm eastern ... Period end of discussion!!

Joe, I have probably sold 30 cues here on Az in the past. You haven't seen me post a cue in quite a while. Now you understand why. These days I have decided to sell JOSS cues as a distributor in a pool hall. I still have my collection and sell one of them now and then. I am getting by on savings, unemployment, cue repair, selling cues, giving lessons and my wife's business. I have been in your shoes and wish to tell you, "This to will pass!!!" Take care of yourself my friend and don't get to discouraged. Do what you love to do and the money will follow.
